You watching games through purple and gold glasses. They made bad calls both ways. Great game. #5 blew it, not the refs.
Arkansas won by 1 point. Notae was given two free throws that he made when Murray cleanly blocked his layup attempt with a few minutes left.
LSU had two points taken off the board on a charging call where Eason was already on the way down from the jump shot when Williams stepped forward into his path of falling and then flopped. Two points taken off the board and what should've been a blocking foul called for a chance at an and 1 opportunity.
Final possession of the first half given to Arkansas when a charging foul was called on Pinson with Williams once again moving sideways into his path and flopping. Arkansas scores with that final possession of the first half.
JD Notae gets trapped by three LSU players with 10 seconds left in the game and jumps to try to find someone to pass the ball out of the trap but doesn't pass the ball and comes down with it. No traveling called and right after that Wilkinson fouls like an idiot. That doesn't take away the fact that there was a blatant up and down travel not called by the officials.
Yea man, purple and gold glasses. It was all Wilkinsons fault and the officials just sucked for both teams in a one point game at Arkansas.
Had they just called the Eason shot attempt correctly this is an LSU win. If they just called the Pinson charge correctly this is an LSU win. If they just call the Notae travel this is an LSU win.
Yea dude just purple and gold glasses. They sucked for both teams.

Excellent breakdown of how we got bent over by the refs. Too bad some of our fans are too ignorant to see it though. Facts dont matter to them.

Shouldn’t have to worry about calls to win. We should’ve won without bad calls.

Uh, i agree for the most part. However, when you get obviously hosed by officials in a 1 point game with 10 seconds left by them not calling a clear travel, but call us for a foul and giving arkansas foul shots and the lead...thats officials taking the game away. Idk how you could say that dumb shite. So, if it were called properly, LSU would have almost definitely won the game. Instead, we lost. So, youre wrong. Bad calls in situations like that have a direct impact on who wins or loses is the point. Wtf are u talking about?

eventually we need to win one of these close games. Look at all our losses when healthy they’re close and we frick it up in the end
That’s the main problem/challenge. LSU does not play well at the end of the game. In many cases this year they’ve been in close games at the end because of several bad foul calls throughout the game.
Yes, LSU’s style of D leads to more fouls validly being called than the “average” team. But in the end, it’s the handful (at least) of bad calls that are the difference between a 1 pt game they end up losing and a 10 point game they should have won.
This is what gets the least credit. Yes they make bad reaching fouls. But it seems like their reaching style of D is the reason the refs seem to always lean towards calling a foul when often it doesn’t even seem that close (that there was not a foul).
It happened immediately in tonight’s game. Wade almost had a heart attack 60 secs in because of it. When that same BS call happens 5 more times, it’s 10 pts in the end that shouldn’t have been given to the opponent. And that leads to close losses and super difficult games to watch.
Not all calls are bad. But enough are against LSU on any given night to piss fans off enough to feel like the whole game was against LSU, even though it was only a handful of calls. But that handful doesn’t go the other way (just because LSU gets a few 50/50 calls) and that handful is the difference that leads to losing these close games.

That blown travelling call and subsequent foul was the difference in the game...theres no arguing that. Anyone that argues that LSU wasnt in great position to win the game had it been called correctly is an ignorant SOB. Thats that.

That’s fair (the first part; the ignorant SOB nonsense is, idk, ignorant?). Just because it happened last doesn’t mean it’s the only thing that contributed to the loss.
Literally just before the travel and foul, LSU threw up an air ball with 15 left on the shot clock, at the end of the game, with the lead. That was a terrible shot when LSU was…in great position to win the game. When Gaines rebounds the air ball and immediately flings up of some sort weird sideways whacking dance move, with 12 left on the clock indicating, I’m sure, he had no idea how much time was left and must have thought there was no time left, it’s a pretty clear example of his head not being in the game at the most important time of the game, i.e., not playing well at the end of the game. If he comes down and goes back up, it’s an easy two pts when LSU…was in great position to win the game.
LSU doesn’t play well at the end of games and they certainly didn’t close this one out. But (and maybe you didn’t read my full post) as I said, LSU shouldn’t be put into the close games by bad calls throughout when it should be a ten pt lead at the end…and this is how it plays out. The refs aren’t all of sudden going to bail out LSU for playing poor ball at the very end; they’re going to take another chance to make a bad call.
And even though the travel didn’t get called, a smart player on a smart team knows that you don’t rake down on the arms of a guy holding the ball with 8 secs left and give the ref a chance to even make that call. That’s poor defense at the end of a game when LSU was…in a great position to win the game.
But, I’m not going to argue against my own point after finally calming down from that shite show and watching their idiot coach ride the donkey all over the court after the game as over. That’d be some ignorant SOB type shite.
So I guess both sides of extremists need to realize both things are actually happening. LSU isn’t good enough to win the majority of close games. And the refs shouldn’t be putting them in close games with crap calls when they aren’t going to let them win in the end anyway with another crap call.
