He looked good on that pick and roll dunk he had. Wade needs to try to get him more looks like that. And he needs to practice catching the ball at the goal and GOING STRAIGHT UP . . NO DRIBBLING!!!!

I thought five star meant a HS Recruit was ready to contribute as a Freshman?

Regis Kounja, Magnum Rolle, Lester Earl - all 5-star recruits for the Tigers. So....no, not necessarily.

I agree under the right coach he can develop into a star. When he transfers to Kentucky that might happen.

I agree with all the points you made in the OP. Reid looks like he hasn’t played much basketball but has a lot of upside. I don’t understand why he’s getting so much PT though. Is he that much better than Fudge? What about Ezewiro? I know he isn’t better than Reef, so why all the minutes?

The right coach like Cal who it took 3 years to develop Nick Richards, a 6-11 McDonald’s All American and who couldn’t develop 6-11 Skal Labissiere who was the overall #2 recruit in the country.

Hate

Strength training - he needs to get stronger with the ball. Guards are tying him up under the basket.

Awareness - he's 7' tall, but has a bad tendency of bringing the ball low on the block and/or using a power dribble when it's completely unnecessary. Catch the ball, keep it high, go straight to the rim.

Free throw shooting - if he does the 2 things above, he will be shooting more free throws and needs to convert. If he does this, less people will attack him and he will get more point blank finishes.

Defense - he's simply too new to basketball to understand what constitutes solid defense and proper positioning. He gets out of position easily, which leads to his foul trouble. This makes him even more tentative on both ends, vicious cycle.

He has decent mid range jumper and can hit a three if left open. He's long and pretty athletic for his size. I think if the above can happen, his confidence will continue to rise and his game will improve exponentially.

So posters on the site say post the shite as you and it;'s called "Hate" but you reword it to "things he needs to work on" so it's O.K.

He's soft with Very little experience and shouldn't receive the minutes he receives on a contending SEC team. He is transfer portal material

This guy has a world of upside for this off-season. Strength training, ball handling, quick feet training and keeping the ball off the floor, free throws and making your lay-ups will produce light years of easy light year improvements for Efton. I love this guys upside for next season!

Even more so with Eziwiro and Colbert on our bench with ONeal there as well. We have what should be 4 true Fives on our roster and only 2 have seen more than 10 minutes of play time all season. What I feel LSU’s real need here after watching our teams “big” play production is a coach with experience coaching 5 spot player production. Who that person is I don’t know but he’s not currently on our roster. Hire him quickly, put him to work and watch our center production go through the roof. We’ve got the tools; just need to learn how to use them.

Bigs take longer to develop, especially in todays game. The AAU circuit and the big prep schools don’t focus on developing bigs now days because of the changing style. How many dominant American bigs have their been in all of basketball the last 20 years, maybe a handful? Unless you’re lucky it just takes time.
