Sorry for your loss, I lost my HS buddy back in late July 2021 (Delta surge). Same thing, oxygen fell to 70, they intubated him and gave him Remdesivir. They also withheld fluids for fear of buildup around the lungs, and this in combo with the Remdesivir is what fried his kidneys imo. My buddy was 6'1 250, so yes he was overweight but not obese by any stretch.

thanks, same to you. sounds like they went through the same regimen, he was intubated as well.

A family member’s neighbor had this happen a couple of weeks ago. He and his wife were not vaccinated because they didn’t fear getting COVID. Their fear was getting COVID, being hospitalized, being treated with Remdesivir, and dying from renal failure. Both got COVID. The wife wasn’t impacted too badly but his O2 levels got low enough to get treatment at a hospital. They thought they found a hospital that would use other treatments but they put him on Remdesivir and he passed away soon after.

My buddy/neighbor went into the hospital 3 weeks ago with low oxygen symptoms from covid, but otherwise ok. They put him on RDV and his kidneys proceeded to fail, and he died this morning.

My dad went into the hospital with COVID about 8 months ago with low oxygen and confusion. They put him on Remdisivir and he was out of the hospital within a week

There are going to be anecdotal stories on both sides of every treatment.

Why should anyone trust the vast majority of the medical and scientific communities. Sean Hannity, Alex Jones and the good folks at OAN and Newsmax know best how to treat Covid. The smart people will listen to them.

the WHO even cautions against it. can't get more leftist bureaucracy than that.

It seems like bad medicine to treat a disease that could cause kidney damage with a drug that's been linked to kidney damage.

I've learned one thing during this pandemic ... many of our so-called medical professionals aren't very professional nor as brilliant as we would like to think.

It seems the logical thing would have been for them to get vaccinated. While the vaccine doesn’t offer much protection from contracting covid it can be effective at preventing a severe reaction that would require hospitalization

Yea, that sounds like BS.

You can't order whatever treatment you want in a hospital, but you can refuse it. You can refuse a vent, you can refuse blood, you can refuse Remdesivir.

Remdesivir was approved by the FDA under the last administration. Here's an article about it.

LINK

-Hardy is "amazed" the agency didn't consult the panel in this case. "This sets the standard for the first COVID-19 antiviral," he says. "When it comes to the point of giving pharmaceutical companies exclusive marketing rights in this area, that really is something that's very, very important. And there does need to be more than just governmental input."

I agree, I trust the college drop outs/non-medical educated posters here to direct my care over them.

Your buddy died from something else but happened to have Covid. It was only reported as a Covid death so the hospital could get extra federal funds. If he was otherwise healthy and has a semblance of an immune system Covid is nothing more than a common cold. These hospitals and doctors are so corrupt they should all be in prison.

Without any context of body composition, you have no clue if that person is clinically obese. Literally.
Chris Bumstead, Mr. Olympia, is 6'1" and weighs 230lbs. In no way, shape, or form is someone 6'1" and 250lbs not clinically obese.
