Also, this phone is huge. Almost too much for me.

Yeah I want to pull the trigger on the s22 ultra, but been wary to get it due to the size. I have fairly small hands and current using the pixel 3. I need to go to the Verizon store and see if I can just put my hands on the phone.

After using the phone all week, I'm impressed with the shear speed of it.
I came from a Note20 ultra, and there's a big difference in that and the screen resolution.
Glad I made the swap. Can't wait to put the pen to the test.

I've been using my S22+ all week. Anyone have a battery drain issue like me? There's a thread on Reddit so it's not just me. I'm giving it a few more days for it to "learn" my patterns but it's a bit ridiculous how fast it drains.

Example:
2 hrs 13 min screen on time
8 hrs 49 min screen off time
21% battery remaining.

And I'm not going to turn off any features I was previously using on my S20. 120hz, always on screen, etc. I've checked all other data for battery drain but I don't see anything out of the ordinary.

I turned off adaptive battery and it seemed to get better, I know that sounds opposite but that's what it seems like. Good thing is I still got a 30w charger from my pixel and use that so it charges up pretty fast. I run the phone to the extreme with extra brightness toggled, 120hz full resolution etc.

I might request a new one for my work phone, as that's still an S10... but I can't really complain either, as it's been plenty efficient for me. My personal phone is an iPhone 11 Pro Max, which I know is now 2 generations back but once again - no real complaints. Haven't seen a need to replace either just yet. Only real reason to change either would be to get 5G, but I'm on wifi so much it doesn't really affect much.

Don't worry no need to upgrade you can skip like 5 generations of iphone and then finally get a reason to upgrade.

I bounced back and forth between iPhone and android devices for years. I find that the iPhones tend to be better appliances. The androids are better gadgets.

If I was recommending a platform for someone that planned on keeping it long term - iPhone all the way.

So true. Couldn't imagine still being tied to Apple products these days.

Main thing I've noticed was how smooth/fast scrolling pretty much any app is.
Where my 20 was "twitchy" this one is as slick as greased owl shite (as my paw-paw would say)
The 2 phones are almost identical, physically. They fit in each others cases, minus the camera cut out.

My wife (no pics) will usually buy the best Samsung there is out at the time and keep it for 5ish years. She never upgrades her phones and the only complaint she had with her note8 before she upgraded to the gigantic folding tablet thing last year was her battery was starting to last about a half day with normal use.

There's a reason the iPhone isn't #1 or #2 outside the USA but 3rd

After having the phone for a while man this thing is fukin smooth and dare I say it is even smoother than my P6P was.A little bit of a battery hog but I am a power user basically use it all day long no phone stands a chance with me to last an entire day, seems to get about as good of battery life as my P6P did. Loving having the pen again I use it every day with work. Hope they continue this annually

Any idea why Fed Ex sent it back to Indianapolis?

If you are anywhere near Baton Rouge, be happy they sent it back and didn't just keep it.
I know Verizon sends them "signature required". They aren't going to leave a phone on your doorstep.

If you aren't home to sign for it, Fed Ex is supposed to leave a slip on your door with the option to pick it up at a local hub. Where I live I leave the garage door unlocked, and the couriers leave packages inside (yes, I realize that isn't a good option for others in bigger cities).

Hope others are having better luck with their pre-orders. Mine has been an absolute nightmare.

Phone was supposed to be delivered 3/1 but was delayed. Phone was supposed to be delivered 3/2, delayed again. At 11AM on 3/3, I get a Fedex notification that the phone was delivered on 3/2 @ 2pm. I work from home and my office window faces the street. The phone was never delivered. A Fedex truck DID pull up in front of my house, but the driver never got out. Reported it to Fedex and was informed they would look into it. Reported it to Samsung and initially they wouldn't do anything since it was marked delivered by Fedex. After pushing them, they did state that any shipments over $500 are supposed to require a signature. After going round and round with Samsung they did agree to refund the order so I could place a new order. However I can't place a new order since the phone line is already marked ineligible for upgrade by Verizon from the initial order. Samsung was requesting a police report which I initially disputed wasn't my responsibility. However I am more inclined to file the report after pulling up my DVR recording which shows the Fedex truck pulling up and the driver never exiting the truck. Just overall pissed that I'm stuck with a $1000 bill, no phone, and being pushed back and forth between Samsung, Verizon, and Fedex.
