The owner of Arabella's Casa Di Pasta on St. Claude did all of its ordering earlier this week and spent the money to be staffed up and prepped for its biggest business day of the year.

"I don't want to hear anybody defend this decision," says Mowgli Pierlas. "If this decision needed to be made, it needed to be made two or three weeks ago. Not two days before the busiest day of the year. After we've spent all the money, after we've staffed up, after we've done everything. I've had extra people here all week prepping and making sure that we had everything that we needed."

NOPD should go on strike until the DA starts to do their job competently. I’m almost at the point where I just want to watch it burn to the ground.

are they bringing in police from neighboring parishes for the big parades? If they don't have enough for Chewbacchus how the hell are they going to manage Endymion

This doesn’t give me great confidence for any parades.

If we don’t have the police force to work chewbacchus how are any of them going to run even the shortened route.

Chewbaccus is optional. It was like a paid detail. Endymion and the others will not be. Who wants to volunteer to stand in 30 degree weather dealing with belligerent drunks all while having to keep your head on a swivel so you don’t get shot?

If I recall, only 25% of eligible voters voted in last election.

Yep. We didn’t even force a runoff. There was like no one at my precinct on Election Day. It was pathetic.

Name recognition goes way too far in Nola politics…well name recognition, coupled with apathy.

Let a serial killer prowl I10 and nobody bats an eye. Shorten a hipster parade and they come after you with pitch forks.
