He never came to LSU because he loved the school. He liked the coach and thought we'd be 2019 LSU going forward.

Coach left and we sucked. Add insult to injury, he received no NIL interest at LSU while Stingley was spoon fed multiple NIL deals by LSU.

I hate that the kid quit on us and went to a bitter rival but to say you don't understand why he'd leave is just sticking your head in the sand.

Ricks is a beast on the field but seems like an a-hole otherwise.

I'll give the 2 most obvious answers here.

Logically: He came in after we won a natty, we've gone 11-12 since then being irrelevant nationally and had a huge culture problem. He also was unhappy playing 2nd fiddle NIL wise to Stingley. So he chose a place to get paid and compete for a national title in Bama.

LSU Fan POV
: Because he's a pu**y

IDK but I'm petty and I hope he spends the rest of his career 5th on the depth chart and has to come back and beg a car dealership for a job
but I assume you fully support all the transfers coming in to LSU?

Hypocrite much?

He gets to be likely given a national championship ring. Doesn't have to actually earn it.

THIS is the most accurate and concise answer.

He left a team where he had earned a starting job from Day 1 and was ensured of starting this year before hitting the NFL. He was the obvious leader in the secondary and a likely preseason All-American. By leaving, he isn't going to improve his level of competition, and he will likely not be in a better place in order to showcase his talents. He chose not to lead here but rather to follow others at Alabama. Barring any off the field issues, he will definitely start there from day 1, but he will not be the lead dog.

On the flip side, I will say there is a slight chance he will improve his draft stock. He was a lock Top 10 pick here, and honestly, he will get better coaching there assuming Saban is still hands on with the secondary.

Regardless, any way you cut it, he is choosing to follow rather than lead.

Yes, it sucks that he left. Yes, it was a bitch move. He was a damn good CB while he was here though

When he was on the field, the secondary was historically bad.

players and recruits that go to Bama are looking for the easy way to a title. Dont have much heart or fight in them. Just part of the give everyone a trophy culture without having to put in the work.

Starter and DBU and could have made a name for himself and put himself amongst the greats. Still don't understand the move to Bama.

There are several things that might have affected his decision; he wanted out of a decaying program, he is a front runner, or he is getting paid.

Some people are Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan.

Others are LeBron James and Kevin Durant.

Writing was on the wall. No way he was going to contribute here. Made the safe move to play 2nd or 3rd string somewhere else. A little less embarrassing probably.
