Kind of surprised at the net increase at L. Charles given the hurricanes impacting Cameron and Calc. Parishes. Must be industry keeping the population relatively stable.

Aren’t the Maurice/Youngsville/Broussard areas of Lafayette Parish blowing up?

Shreveport-Bossier is thriving despite the dead weight down south.

No, but I know the population in Livingston Parish has exploded.

There's a town named after my family. They were very prominent in 1800s Louisiana. You couldn't pay me to step foot in that shite hole of a town today.

None of your stats include the surrounding cities. People may move out of the city but they are moving to cities right next door. They still play, work, and shop in that city.

Now do Lake Charles from 2020 to present. If it’s not the city with the largest outward migration in the entire country, it’s close.

If BR can have a few more years of 150+ homicides straight, could be a problem that solves itself

Yes, Lafayette parish has increased by ~27% in the past 20 years. Youngsville and Broussard had large increases in population and are still growing. Maurice (in Vermilion parish, but still a Lafayette suburb), has more than doubled in size in the last 10 years and they are building multiple (3+) new neighborhoods over there.

The Census count was from April 1, 2020, which was well before the hurricanes and other disasters.
