He didn’t come back…. Yet. He’s training and working that arm back. He comes back the last week of the season and bring the saints to the playoffs and Super Bowl.

I can guarantee you that Brees is in playing condition if he were to come back. Even in retirement he trains like a madman. I’d love to see it but Monday night would just be too soon I think. We will have to ride with Book but after that if he wanted to I think Drew could do it. We don’t have receivers that can get deep anyway. On the bright side I really think Book is going to surprise some people. He’s going to make some mistakes but he’s also a very gritty player that will keep the Saints in the game.

It's crushing if you're dumb. He might not want to get blasted by a defender again or he understands he'll probably look terrible playing on a few days notice a year removed from his last practice and he probably doesn't want to look terrible.
