You can knock the man for lack of organization, etc. but to blame him for lack of recruiting in state talent and recruiting in general is insane!
The dudes recruiting classes are as follows:
Orgeron/LSU Kelly/ND
2017-7 10
2018-15 10
2019-5 15
2020-4 18
2021-3 9
So how is Ed Orgeron at fault for 2022 recruiting woes when our class was ranked 3rd in the country before Woodward fired him(which has been his MO since he’s been here)?!?! Oh, that’s right, we are LSU fans and we lack the ability to acknowledge that there’s always several factors involved in a situation.
The last 3 years LSU’s class rank avg was 4.0 (with 1.0 being the best), ND’s avg over the last 3 years has been 14.0.
So how exactly is the guys 10 classes behind on average the last 3 years gonna save us?!?!

How many guys from those recruiting classes are actually left on the team? Most have quit the team.
0 was a lazy recruiter who pretty much just star gazed. Pulled talented guys with cancerous attitudes.

15th in 2019 and 18th in 2020 jumps off of the page. He was not a great recruiter in terms of an overall class or roster management. He was great at recruiting the one kid, but not a class in an organized fashion.

Where are his recruits from those top classes? They are gone. And they are gone because of Ed O’s program and culture. Not because Ed O was fired. He could get them here, but he couldn’t keep them here.

It’s almost like going 11-11 since the natty, hiring garbage coordinators, and a complete inability to run a program was undermining recruit’s interest in LSU…like we’re seeing with the class the CBK is working overtime to keep together.

People are still trying to defend him! Wow He recruited very well but that didn’t translate into wins did it! There is more to the game of football than recruiting! Recruiting helps tremendously but without a proper coach we have seen the results first hand

Recruiting rankings mean nothing. You only have to look at the last 2 years to realize this. You recruit a room full of highly rated receivers rather than recruiting lesser rated players that are of big need. OFFENSIVE LINEMEN seem to jump to the top of that list.
O read too much of his own press. He recruited to protect his reputation vs recruiting for the team’s needs. But knowing his history it should surprise no one.

Oh because he tanked the program so bad he had to get fired
If he just does his job and hires competent assistants than he doesn’t get fired.

You never factored in that Coach BK was dealing with an academic standard at ND that prevented him from getting the high caliber recruits that LSU is capable of getting. The fact that he was able to put together successful ND teams with the academic standards they hold there is impressive alone. Imagine what he’ll do in years to come at LSU.
