Have you bought the Ultimate Kauai Guidebook yet? It is a must have!
And yes, hiking to the waterfalls and back on the Kalalau trail is a full day and not easy. There is also good hiking around Waimea Canyon.
The North Shore is so amazing!

I haven't heard of it. I mostly been researching on the web and experiences. I will have to check it out.
We are spending 6 nights in Princeville and 4 nights on south shore.
Trying to make the most of it hiking and exploring and also relaxing on the beaches all day too.
