I'm old as shite so bare with me here. Having surgery right after xmas and going to be down for a few months

Best I can do here, but my favorite all time game is Borderlands. So, I suppose I like looter shooters. Beyond that it's probably Assassin's Creed and probably Age of Empires back in the day. So role playing period type stuff

I know it's not much but thought I'd ask. Thanks guys

If you liked Age of Empires you'll probably like the Total War series. There's several, take your pick.

Is it like a nation building, army building, resource gathering type thing?

I just discovered Crusader Kings 3 and am hooked. Nation building but way deeper. You build up armies, alliances, tax wealth and take over territories. There is also an aspect of the game where you have to constantly manage your family/line of succession. You lose the game when you have no heir and you die. If you die, you play as your heir. You can marry off your kids to form powerful alliances but also have to watch for inbreeding with distant relatives. You can also marry them to people with favorable congenital traits.

I've spent hours on it and have only scratched the surface.

then enjoy. Major DLC dropping in a few months that is going to really shake things up. I’d definitely start watching some videos on what’s what to kinda ease into things.

And, start in Ireland with the tutorial for the first few runs

This is a rabbit hole in and of itself. I started down a youtube rabbit hole of tutorials for this game during covid. Ended up opening a case of beer and made a night of it.

That's how I started off and I'm glad I did. Now I just need to figure out how to change my culture so that my land doesn't get split between all my sons after I die.

Have to get to primogeniture baw!

Or simply murder your children or be a cuck and just disinherit them.

Wow thats a throwback. Have they evolved the series pretty well? I havent played since Civ 2 or 3

Or is this a deal where they make barely noticeable tweaks and keep churning them out (looking at you, assassin's creed)
