Try alpha lipoic acid supplements. Studies have shown its benefit over placebo in improving smell related dysfunction

Yeah the same thing happened to me. Noticed one day that lunch tasted weird. Then The next day I was eating a salad with grilled chicken and I nearly puked from how bad it tasted

Had to get one of those smell kits to help it

I find that’s it’s this and anything that is supposed to have a burnt smell. It’s like my brain re-programmed all burnt scents to this one thing

Had COVID in July 2021, Lost taste and smell a few weeks. Smell returned but not 100%. Had vaccine in late Sept (NB4 not necessary - I agree). Thought it was harmless. Then lost most taste and smell, and what I can taste is combined with a weird, nasty taste. Some things that I enjoyed have strong nasty taste, others only slight altered taste, even toothpaste, but all with the same weird taste. Lost 15 lbs due to no temptation to eat between meals since nothing taste good. I can barely even smell gasoline, cologne, etc. My shite hasn't stunk since July.

It’s the weirdest smell, I don’t even know how to describe it.

Made it easier changing a diaper full of poop these days! It’s the craziest thing how it all smells the same now, no flavor whatsoever. Can’t even tell what I ate for breakfast any more!

Try licking a 9 volt battery or eat a ghost pepper. Maybe your taste buds come back then.

I never lost my taste or smell when I had COVID, but now my body wash smells sour. I've tried multiple different types and it's so bad. I've never had this issue before. My fiance says it smells fine. I'm assuming Covid messed up my smell for a specific chemical? I can't quite put my finger on it.

On Joe Rogan’s post-covid podcast with Tom Segura, this was brought up. Joe said that he’s heard and read where NAD IV Drip & alpha-lipoic acid can bring it back.

Could be worth researching.

Lost taste and smell for a week or two after the wuflu in July. Both came back normal for most everything, except shite. And anything associated with shite. Doesn’t matter if it’s mine, or I let one rip, change my kids diaper, or drive by the poo factory on Gardere. They all smell the same, almost sweet but almost pungent. Weirdest thing and weirdest smell, I can’t even really explain the smell.

Seven months out and I have the same exact phenomenon. Started about 3 months ago as sense of smell came back. A new twist is that about two months ago all scrambled eggs started sharing the same smell that any and all sorts of poo or flatulence smells like now
The smell is what driving on I12 by Walker has always smelled like to me pre Covid

I’m going to cook eggs in the morning to compare. Hell I used to be able to tell I ate scrambled eggs a few hours later, now it doesn’t who or what produced the gas or turd they all smell the same. And I feel like the smell lingers now in my nostrils for hours. But I still can’t place the actual smell. It’s not super overwhelming, and doesn’t quite gross me out, it’s just an odd smell.

There is a signature “burnt” smell I only smell around certain things. Chick-fil-a grilled nuggets bring it back the strongest for some reason.
I’ve only ever recognized this signature smell post-covid.

I think Covid turned you into Spider-Man. That burnt smell means danger is near.

Bacon and peppers both had the same weird plastic aftertaste for nearly a year. Less severe in peanuts. It has pretty much worn off now.

This is probably the 4th or 5th thread on this subject so take a look back and read them. I am in the same situation. This is a burnt coffee/stale wine/metallic smell. I'm willing to bet it is probably the same smell that we are all experiencing due to this virus being made in a lab. It must carry a marker for neurologically altering the sense of smell. I've spoken to many many people who have this same exact smell as I described. Although different foods activate the smell for each individual, I am convinced it is the same smell. Canned tuna, italian dressing, barbecue sauce, smoked meats, gumbo, coffee, shite & piss from everyone including myself, and many others. I bought the MOXE essential oil kit last week. Will be reporting when I get results, if any.
