the more i think about it the more i think Black comes back for one more year

Right now this is how I see the left tackles being drafted:

1. Michael Oher (Ole Miss)
2. Andre Smith (Bama)
3. Eugene Monroe (Virginia)
4. Alex Boone (Ohio St.)
5. Ciron Black

there is a HUGE drop off in pay between being the 1st and 5th OT taken in the draft, if he comes back he could potentially be a top 5 pick in 2010.

people saying no about Byrd, need to think about

A) the other possible receivers coming out this year

B) look at receivers drafted previously

It has less to do with production than it does with potential. Byrd will definitely be a 1st day pick unless he gets hurt. If his production goes up, i imagine his combine numbers will be good enough to make him a late 1st early 2nd projection.

seniors
big herm- first round. he'l have to prove his weight wont be an issue, but the NFL loves the way he mauls people

byrd- needs to boost his stats a bit. i know hes been hurt and has a green qb, but needs to keep getting into the endzone. hes def got first day potential, everyone says hes the fastest on the team not named trindon-- he just needs to show it on the field, i dont see him torching DBs like his 40 time would indicate. a monster 40 time would get him in the first day

tyson- first round lock is he stays healthy. hes a perfect 3-4 DE. hes stout against the run, and can get pressure on the qb. first tiger off the board. im thinking top10

darry- im a huge darry guy- but hes always hurt. our defense is 10X better with darry in the middle, but isnt consistant enough to warrant a high pick. first day talent? yes. first day pick? no

juniors
chuck scott- as well as hes played, the most important number for his will be his 40 time. <4.5 and hes in the first rd. >4.6, and hes in the 3-4 rounds.

noone on this planet thought vandy's chris williams would get into the first rd, but he did. pro scouts love ciron b/c hes great against the pass, and good against the run. black gets into the first rd if he goes early. the question will be, does he want to be the 3rd-4th OT off the board, or the 1st-2nd by waiting. i think he goes, not much else to prove at this point

lafell- has all skills needed. he looked shaky at the beginning of last season(v-tech not withstanding) but fixed all the kinks by the end of the year. playing great so far, 1st day guy if he goes. i dont know what he does

RJF- ive been underwhelmed by him so far. if he wasnt hyped as the next dorsey, you wouldnt know who he is. he proves how outstanding dorsey was. needs to play a whole lot better if he wants to leave early. he could get into the first day on hype and workouts alone, but the film says differently. if he doesnt play much better the rest of the way he should stay

just my .02
