Credit poster BigJim.

quote:

G. After receipt of the report of the subcommittee, the governor shall have ten calendar days in which to disapprove the action taken by the subcommittee. If the action of the subcommittee is not disapproved by the governor within ten calendar days from the day the subcommittee report is delivered to him, the rule change shall not be adopted by the agency until it has been changed or modified and subsequently found acceptable by the subcommittee, or has been approved by the standing committee, or by the legislature by concurrent resolution. If a proposed rule change is determined to be unacceptable by an oversight committee and such determination is not disapproved by the governor as provided in this Section, the agency shall not propose a rule change or emergency rule that is the same or substantially similar to such disapproved proposed rule change nor shall the agency adopt an emergency rule that is the same or substantially similar to such disapproved proposed rule change within four months after issuance of a written report by the subcommittee as provided in Subsection F of this Section nor more than once during the interim between regular sessions of the legislature.

It’s seems that the governor can do whatever he wants to if he declares it’s an emergency. We need to take away the ability to claim these emergency powers. How?

though the Democratic governor has said he intends to override legislative rejection and add the vaccine to the state immunization schedule.

How? He’s not the legislature? How can he write laws?

Who does this prick think he is?

And of course the spineless bitches in state legislature won't do shite about it. This state fricking sucks.

Let me guess... The legislature will be spurred by public outrage to call a veto session. The press will make much hubbub about it, there will be tweets and press conferences by state legislators about doing the will of their voters and then... they'll fail to override it. Just like last time.

You do realize there is 105 in the house, 64 republicans and 38 democrats and 3 independents. In order to pass an override you have to have 2/3 majority (70) which includes getting democrats on board , 3 to be exact and only if you get all republicans and all independents. That is the problem which is assuring you get 3 democrats and everyone else .

Yep. The Legislature will fail to Veto JBE by two votes. Those two will get new bridges in their district among other bribes.

These worthless fricks take turns being bought off so no one guy is always to blame.

It's how they work.

I know quite a few people who bought into the lie that he has not been a ideological governor. To anyone still claiming this nonsense, show them this.

If they haven't figured it out in the last 2 years, this won't change anything

Man, I’m a relatively new resident to Texas and while I love a lot about it, they’re nuts about the Covid shite here too. Maybe it’s just because I’m in Houston and conduct most of my business here, but organizations are being shitheads with the mandates here too.

Shocker
JBE is going to do whatever the dem handlers tell him to do. He has visions of one day playing a deeper role in D.C. with the dems.
