If it’s the south & SEC they hate, then explain their love for Bama then?

That is fair. Alabama is in the Blue Blood Club. I was more or less referencing their opinions of Kelly moving from ND to LSU. As if he is an idiot for doing so. They know that in 2021, LSU is by far the better job but they will not concede that point due to their inherent biases.

Blue Blood Club

THIS is 100% the truth. The national media doesn't hate the South in general. What they hate is the threat to the traditional brands that sell. Michigan, Alabama, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Texas, Oklahoma and USC in football are the teams that were traditionally the top programs for years. Georgia is also on the fringe of that group. A lot of that stemmed from the power of the major networks. Those were the teams that were on TV. Now, everybody is on TV and, as such, players from the South are staying in the South, the coaches and the dollars have followed and the SEC has dominated because of it.

I honestly believe that this is why they are so blatantly hostile toward Will Wade and LSU men's hoops. When a team like LSU takes a 5 star that would have likely gone to a Duke or a Kentucky, and when they then start to beat those "blue blood" schools, it further threatens the traditional powers. It's worth noting that they don't have that same hate toward LSU baseball because we are one of the blue bloods for that sport. Well, that plus they don't give as much of a shite about baseball.
