Who are the top candidates since Freeman is apparently will be ND's HC ???

I don’t know but I’m not too worried about that. We could always stay with Dorante Jones.

Schumann makes 600k at Georgia while Jones makes 1.3 million at LSU. LSU could more than double Schumanns salary to get him here. I like Daronte, but take a swing at Schumann and Belk first. I think everyone knew it was a VERY long shot to get Freeman here and Elko is probably just as long if we are being honest with ourselves. This co-DC thing at Georgia can be bought out when Dan Lanning is make over twice what Schumann makes.

Would have loved Freeman, but ND HC is better than any OC at any university.

#1 Jeremy Pruitt, Kelly like Saban can rehab a coach with national sportswriter’s approval. Get 5 really good years. Plus if you ain’t cheating you ain’t trying, just ask Saban!

Buddy Pruitt got fired over recruiting violations that literally involved him just handing bags of cash to recruits. LSU isn’t going to do that especially after firing James Cregg for recruiting violations a few weeks before the season started.
Of course keeps Raymond, he is a must especially for recruiting a territory Kelly isn’t very familiar with, and obviously for the DBU rep he’s carried with him. A miami fan friend of mine seems to think Blake Baker follows Lashlee to SMU to be the DC, and I would say keep Brad Davis very very close because I know BK wants to bring Jeff Quinn but it seems like the ND guys are staying with Freeman at this point, if not just give Davis another coaching position on the team.

I don’t think it would be settling. I don’t think he was allowed to be aggressive earlier in the year. I guess we can’t know, but Brian Kelly will figure it out.

I dont think it is settling. That def gave us a chance to beat Alabama, Arkansas and was a huge part of the win over the aggies.
He was down 9 starters! That LB corps just kept getting better all season.
Again I would trust BK but just my opinion on a message board, Daronte should be at least interviewed
