I understanding getting a foot in Texas is big, and I understand A&M wanting to come over for $ and conference stability.
But I cannot see them being competitive anytime soon.

Our history suggests we will win more conference titles than you

Honest question. A&M is ranked higher in the preseason than every school in the SEC not named Bama or LSU. Do you not agree with that? Where would you slot us this year?

why?

our history with you suggests we'll experience more conference W's with you in the SEC, what's not to like?

Really it's a win/win for us. Keep a W most seasons on the schedule with a team we were going to play anyways but get to schedule another OOC game.

Hopefully we can get a TCU series going in Jerry World to keep that Dallas trip. That's the only sad thing to me about A&M joining. Unless we keep the game there of course.

yes because the SWC and Big 12 opponents are comparable to the SEC.

I hope it happens and I just hope your administrators dont bow to a few wishes of the TExas legislators who are probably tied to the Longhorns. I think the Aggies are a perfect fit for the SEC and to my SEC opponents who disagree; we are not just talking football but the Aggies just won the Women's NCAA basketball championship, Many track and field championships since hiring our coach, great men's basketball program, Ladies softball is good so they bring a whole gamut of excellent sporting activities to the SEC. Hope it happens and I for one welcome the Aggies and renewed rivalry to the SEC.

We were both in the SWC. While we were both there we won more titles. Facts.

And we beat #1 Nebraska and #2 KSU to win the Big XII in 98. It wasn't a cake walk

Latarian, answer the question for him. What teams in the SEC do you think are better than A&M this year?

A&M had a tough time for a few years, and then compounded it by hiring Dennis Franchione. It was like when Texas hired John Mackovic, it just was a terrible fit. They are recovering now.

I'd like to see the Ags get back to the "wrecking crew" days when their defense was nothing less than awesome.

It's a great school, with great tradition, a fanatic fan base, and lots of upside.

Have fun while your fake rivalry gets sidelined for a headline game of LSU vs A&M.

not, our game will still be the day after thanksgiving and makes for a Detroit Lions type of tradition. Big Kat, you will be behind Arkansas and USCe in the SEC and probably be fighting it out with the Mississippi schools for the bottom half.

How does that make you feel as a fan, Big Kat? You have no idea how bad it will feel to see your team having no chance against the bigger SEC teams week end and week out. You are better off where you are.

Hogs without Kniles?

Luckily for us we get to play each other :cheers;

I do think if Garcia shows up that USCe is very good. Also if Jeffry doesn't buffet line his way out of All-American

It's a pretty classic example of a ranking based on where people think that a team will end up, rather than on the actual quality of the team.

A&M will rack up a really solid season. Maybe even 10 regular season wins-- but it won't make them definitively better than a Mississippi State team that could finish with 8 wins and still be one of the 15 best teams in the nation, with the losses coming to even better teams.

If you ranked according to quality, I suspect A&M would be the 4th best team in the SEC-W, and 4th or 5th in the SEC this year, contingent upon unforeseeable injuries or events that could move a team up or down a couple of slots.
