Maybe for a couple of years, but it makes no sense to stay at 14 teams. We expanded to 12 to create the SECCG, which was a huge revenue generator.

Going to 16 teams will be the ultimate goal, with 4 4-team divisions which will create a semi-final doubleheader 1 week before the SECCG. When that happens the history of conference will be gone but the excitement will be doubled.

There aren't two good adds out there. The ACC teams are locked in.

Slive and some of the presidents have said that the SEC is not going to be the test case for the Super Conference idea. Some one else will have to bite that bullet. Unless FSU comes to us like A&M and says please let us in. I don't see it any time soon.

TX and OK are committed to keeping the BEVO whatever together, so the teams would have to come from the ACC. If that doesn't happen by next summer, we are going to be at 14 for a long time.

good. i'm fine with 14 but 16 changes the nature of the conference too much. i like rednecks vs rednecks. we have a special kind of hate for each other.

Its become pretty clear most conferences don't want the big jump to 16

i doubt the SEC goes to 16 any time soon. For one thing, four 4-team divisions and a "final 4" SEC playoff would mean that the NCAA or whomever would have to approve the possibility of a 15-game season for two SEC teams every year. That's a lot. Other option is to go back to 11 regular season games again. <- not gah happen.
