Oral Roberts to the Southland Conference

I just got a text from a friend who is close to Nicholls State athletics. He said that Oral Roberts will be joining the Southland at 2:30 p.m. today.
Seems like a pretty good add for the Southland.

I could see that happening after they hire their new president. The Southland would love to add a team like UNO because of its close proximity to other Southland schools. The city of New Orleans is a pretty good reason in itself.

Didn't UNO go D-II though? Not sure how soon they could move back into D-I.

They are transitioning to D2 but they are still technically in D1. They have a very short window to get themselves together or it will be a 5 year transition back to D1. I am pretty sure that is their situation but I am not certain.
