Assuming Texas A&M is their crossover rival and the SEC stays at a 8 game schedule, that leaves one random team from the West. I think the SEC should make it Arkansas to make Mizzou feel a little more comfortable. Arkansas is their closest opponent. Mizzou actually borders 4 SEC schools (UK, Ten, Van, and Ark)

2012 schedule:
arkansas (random west opponent for 2 years)
texas a&m (permanent crossover rival)
kentucky
tennessee
vandy
south carolina
georgia
florida

They'd be favored vs. UK and Vandy but that's probably it

Lucky for us, the games are played on the field.

Some of you are selling us way too short based on a transition year.

Not saying we are going to come in and win the East, but we will win some games that some here think we wont.

I think your assumptions are wrong. 9 game schedule and arkansas make more sense.

Mizzou and Texas A&M will both be shortchanged in the court of public opinion unless and until they prove otherwise on the field of play. Just the way it is.

I think Arkansas makes more sense as a permanent for Mizzou but I am not sure what MIzzou thinks about that. They may want TAMU for recruiting purposes. If it is Arky, then I would think for 2012-13, they would match Mizzou up with TAMU as their random crossdivision opponent. I just dont see the SEC moving to 9 games unless they changed the neutral site SEC Title game to having the best record host it. None of the other major conferences have 9 games and a title game. Pac12 has 9 but the best team hosts the Title game, the ACC\Big10 have 8 games and neutral site Title games, and the Big12 doesnt have a Title game anymore.

Everyone in east will want A&M as their permanent due to recruiting Houston.

Mizzou's goose is cooked with that schedule, and for years to come. Going back to hoops school.

Missouri should get no say.

LSU-UF needs to end and the way to do that is to match us with USCe, Florida with TAMU and Missou with Arky

It's going to be a 9-game schedule next year.

Slive said it would be 8 games. I think that sucks.

8 games sucks with 7 team divisions... but probably not as badly as 9 games

9 means unequal schedules and an uneven playing field. that is even worse than not playing opposite division opponents often enough

That schedule gives Mizzou an opportunity to win some games. Nobody on the schedule is like an Alabama or LSU.

I like that schedule. There isn't a team in it that Mizzou couldn't beat from one year to the next, a few we will beat consistently, and one we just beat a couple weeks ago.

Oh, and T-horn - be careful spouting too much. Tejas could easily lose its next four games THIS year.

Lose the permanent cross division games except for those who insist on it.

Personally, I'm glad we are heading to the East. For now, it is down and we shouldn't get embarrassed there. The West would be rough.

9 game schedule???? NO WAY. 8 games is it - 7 in division (w/ a 3/4 home rotation) and a leapfrogging rotation from the east. SEC wants to do away with the permanent opponent (don't you Florida???)
