I've walked around Wrigley's grounds, but I've never been to a game. Baseball's not my favorite. But Soldier Field is amazing with the history, but yet modern look.
I need to finish school. So that I can finally have money to go to sporting events...

Wish I was still in school. 24/5 On call sucks.

Agreed. Hopefully, someone learned something here tonight.

Gee, a Bama fan whining about Mizzou. How original is that today.

law, but probably some sort of business interest... And maybe get an MBA one day in the future. Thought about doing a joint degree, but I'm too lazy for that.

FWIW, walking around Wrigley is more fun than the bad sightlines, food and restrooms. And the baseball isn't great either.
Where you going to school jturn?

Oh man... If I enjoyed biology at all, that would definitely be my career path. Unfortunately that's not the case. Just 1.5 left of law school now. Might as well double down on my student loans and get a degree in something.

Chicago-Kent.
And yea, I wasn't unhappy with the stroll around the stadium :) Still think I'm obligated to go to a game because I live here though. Interestingly enough, I've been to a Brewers' game in Milwaukee. That's a beautiful stadium for anyone curious.

Wow, I work probably 6 blocks away on Jackson, so we've probably unknowingly dined together at one of the restaurants within sight of Union Station.
Oh I almost forgot...
Mizzou doesn't belong in the SEC simply due to their athletic irrelevance. I don't care about North-South issues. If conference movement is truly motivated by money and football, MU doesn't offer much intrigue in either case.

I wouldn't doubt it. Probably walked by each other several times as well.

Since you mentioned this earlier, I'd recommend planning a Saturday around a UChicago football game if you haven't done it yet. Tickets are $4 and it's cheap fun compared to other Chicago sports. The Ratner Center has a university Hall of Fame with Jay Berwanger's Heisman on display, which is cool. Last time I was there, Amos Alonzo Stagg and UChicago's two national championships were also featured. Definitely a unique, non-touristy Chicago thing to do since you live here.

Honestly, I lived in Hyde Park for like a year, and I never had any idea UofC had a football team, much less a Heisman on display. I'll definitely have to check that out one day. Thanks.

Sure thing.
Look up UChicago football whenever you get a chance. They were a powerhouse program and charter member of the Big Ten. In the '40s the school president thought big time sports conflicted with the academic reputation of the university so they dropped football and withdrew from the conference. Once that happened, the Bears adopted the "C" logo and "Monsters of the Midway" nickname from the university. The original Stagg Field used to seat 60k. Truly one of the lost treasures of college football.

There is so much fail in this thread.
As far as the Civil War goes, who cares? That war ended 146 years ago. The south shall NOT rise again. Get over it.

Time to derail this thread. yes they were the good guy. That is the BEST way to wage war and break a people's spirit. Especially if they are fighting you. That is what we should have done in Afgan and Iraq.
It is sad when you equate murdering thieves as hero's. As for your argument about Pro-Choice equals anti-life. What is the difference in killing the unborn and killing non-combatant women, children and old men. Personally I think both are wrong. But you think one is wrong and the later is OK. It is estimated that 50,000 southern civilians were killed during that war. Many of those from Shermans bombs that he lobbed into the streets of Atlanta.
