West Virginia has hillbillies, but they are still northern hillbillies.

Right, and so did Missouri...

Unless you're calling the confederacy the good guys, in which case I'm not so sure you realize why there IS a West Virginia.

Also, I'd like to question his definition of "good" if he considers the confederacy the good guys..

Also, anyone who doesn't think Missouri has a lot in common with more traditional Southern states has never been to Missouri. Not that I think that should be a requirement for School conference affiliation in the first place though...

Generals Sterling Price and Joseph Shelby along with troops from the Missouri State Guard didn't. They rode south, buried their battle flags in the Rio Grande and went to Mexico rather than surrender. Alabamians and Texans were pussies.

They belong there and in this world where everything is just getting smaller the addition of Mizzous is a boon and a great asset. Think of it as us streaking out even more westward into the heart of the midwest.

I took "good guys" to mean the North.

Does anyone in this day and age really equate the racist slave owners as the "good guys". Not only were they the "bad guys", but they lost... and quite resoundingly.

The SEC and the South no longer have anything whatsoever to do with the racist pipe dream that was the slavist Confederacy.
