If people knew the towns breakdown first hand they wouldn't see it as a surprise that DGB might actually choose Arkansas over MU or OU because it is as much the cities team as MU.

I think I mentioned that on the SEC rant. I have a feeling Arkansas is towards the top. Not far away and a good program. His family would easily make that trip for every home game.

Much of Southern Missouri is closer to Fayetteville than it is to Columbia. As such we've always had a lot of people from SW MO attending Arkansas.

Missouri is second to Texas in the number of out-of-state kids who attend Arkansas.

Glad to see southwest missouri guys here. Joplin is different. It's on the border with ok and there are too many sooner fans there. Disgusts me really since that is traditional bushwacker country. I would say the ark to mizzou ratio in springfield is more like 30 _70 in favor of mizzou with both pulling for the other when not playing each other. regardless, it will be a fun rivalry in this town.

I just left a Buffalo Wild Wings in Missouri. I sat and ate at the bar. Behind me I overheard the conversations at three different tables. Each of them concerned the prospect of Mizzou moving to the SEC and the people involved were all pumped at the idea.

Missouri is a better fit in the B1G.

I was at the Wal-Mart in Siloam Springs randomly this past weekend and they had more OU stuff for sale than they did Arkansas stuff it looked like.

The state as a whole isn't a great fit anywhere because it's where north meets south and Rustbelt meets Heartland. Think about the states it borders:

Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois (all Big Ten)
Kansas, Oklahoma (both Big 12)
Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky (all SEC)

It's a 3/3/2 split.

However, scheduling is going to be next to impossible with 13 schools, and they are going to bring a lot of additional TV $$$ with the upcoming SEC network.

Noooooo! I was sorry to see that discussion last year. Mizzou is finally playing exciting football. B1G football is about as exciting as watching grass grow. I want to be In a conference that lives and dies football.

Mizzou doesn't belong in the SEC. Neither does WVU. It's too late about aTm. At this rate, the SEC will break into two separate conferences a decade or two from now.

The reason why I like the Big Ten fit is because of the close locations to other Big Ten schools. Good chance to develop better rivalries in the Big Ten. I think Mizzou would have some good COLD weather games with Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Indiana, Northwestern.

Mizzou vs Georgia, Mizzou vs Florida just don't seem like a good fit. Too me it's all about location to the other schools which make for better traveling for opposing fans.

Wal-Mart in Siloam Springs

Siloam is the only town of any size between Springdale and Tulsa. There are probably more Okies that shop at that Wal-Mart than anything else.

Oh I know, it still pissed me off to see it.

When I was in high school we used to drive to West Siloam on Sundays occasionally to buy booze. That's about all Oklahoma was good for to me.
