wrong side of the civil war imho

God that's ignorant.. The entire northern border of W.V. is the "Mason/Dixon" line..

Anyhow, as a south Louisiana native that has been working in WV for the last two years I can honestly say that I've seen more Confederate "rebel" flags in 2 years in WV than I saw in 28 years growing up in Louisiana and around the south..

I think WVU is a good fit, for those not convinced about their TV markets, you're seriously underestimating the markets of Pittsburgh and Washington DC.

Pittsburgh - 1 hr from Morgantown
Washington DC - 3 hrs from Morgantown

for the lol's - Cleveland is only 3 hrs from Morgantown as well

first off, i don't think allegiance to the confederate flag should be a criteria for SEC admission, but WV clearly on the "other side" of the Civil War. do you know when and why did they broke off from Virginia? WV didn't exist prior to the Civil War. the Mason-Dixon line is merely a surveying demarcation between MD and PA.

people that fly the confederate flag in front of their house are more rednecks, rather than southerners.

the American South is obviously defined by regional geography, but the common delineation for Southern in terms of the culture is all the states that were part of the confederacy, which would exclude WV, KY, and Missouri. The "Deep South" states are those that seceded prior to Fort Sumter, which excludes Va, NC, Tn and Ark. it has to do w/ the War, but more so w/ the agriculture practices they shared. not just slavery but the type of crops.
