Gary Danielson made what seemed like a good point the other day on an interview. He said that instead of making all these super-conferences, why not make every team just be an independent? How would things be if that happened? Good? Bad? Like I said I really haven't been following this that much.

i think it would be a nightmare. each team would have to negotiate their own media contracts, revenues would fluctuate wildly (no bowl splits, etc), and scheduling would be very uncertain. the networks would have the upper hand in the media rights negotiations and it would greatly influence the need to cheat to get the big pay days. just my opinion, of course.

Teams like LSU, Bama, Florida, Texas, OU, USC, Mich, tOSU, etc would totally dominate every aspect. The rich would get richer, the poor would get poorer. There would be no parity.
