Big East - East
*Cincinnati
Rutgers
Louisville
Connecticut
South Florida
Navy

Big East - West
*Boise State
BYU
*Houston
SMU
Air Force
*Southern Miss/Tulane/Tulsa/Colorado State

* - currently ranked in AP Top 25

I like it.

It's probably equal to what they have right now, maybe even a little better.

like a conference that doesn't deserve an auto BCS bid. 4 ranked teams or not that is a bad football conference. but IIRC they can use boise's BCS appearances and keep the auto bid. is that right?

The media markets are very good, could make for some good Friday tv games.

A Houston v Boise game this season sure would be fun to watch - polar opposite of LSU/Bama.

I think BYU wants to remain independent, Tulsa (or Army?) can take their spot.

it's that geographic gap between east and west that seems almost unreal, especially with Boise and S Florida on their respective outposts, guarding the frontier

only Cincy is in a half-way decent location

well, if you had 12 teams, you would only be playing three of the teams from the other division, which makes the geographical gap palatable. If you want to survive, you got to do what you got to do. It is what it is. Sorry for the cliches...I try to avoid them like the plague.

I would add UCF to the East and then swap Louisville to the West in place for your 6th team (USM, Tulsa, CSU etc.) and give them either UCF or USF as a permanent crossover opponent to appease their Florida recruiting ties.

"Allegedly" they are just waiting to see who the BE comes up with as an additional western partner for them before they make a decision. Teams they're looking at right now are BYU and Air Force first and then San Diego St has been mentioned as well.

but at what point do you lose the sense of an important conference game when Boise plays @ S Florida and you cant even afford to fly your cheerleaders out...or the fact that there are only 12 of your fans in the stand?

IMO NO conference deserves an autobid

either you are in the BCS top 10 or you aren't.

if you aren't, you don't deserve a BCS game. Period.

Stu, if you only have 12 fans in the stands, do you need cheerleaders?
