the least shocking thing in this whole expansion era

you don't think ESPN/CBS is telling the SEC which teams to target?

Why is Disney – via ABC and ESPN – instructing a conference expansion committee on which teams to include and which to leave out?

What's the big deal about that? ESPN is their television partner.

If true, this isn't at all surprising and I'm not sure what would be illegal about it.

i mean it goes like this

ACC: so ESPN, we are going to take 2 more teams. who do you want?

ESPN: Syracuse and Pitt

ACC: thanks buddy

there may be some intentional interference with contract, but that will occur under any expansion.

If ESPN is telling conferences to take teams from other conferences and giving these new conferences huge TV deals, then the schools left out absolutely have an argument

Coming from a lawyer on our board they can also be liable for tortious interference, RICO (racketeering act), fraud, conspiracy, and libel/slander/defamation

If you think the boys in Bristol haven't covered their tracks, you're insane. I'm sure they've got terrific lawyers and they're pretty fricking smart. Have you been to Disneyland/world? If they can get people to pay that kind of money for tickets, they're brilliant.
