Just curious if we really need three teams called the Tigers in the SEC.

As an alternative, I'm perfectly fine with Auburn switching names too.

Would you please STFU? It's not as if the previous 927 posts on this subject were inadequate.

Honestly I wouldn't mind officially changing our name to the Bayou Bengals. But also, Auburn should just go pure War Eagles.

FYI, LSU is officially the Fighting Tigers and were named after a Confederate battalion that was renown for it's ferocity (thus, the nickname Fighting Tigers). So, the name has a much deeper meaning than simply an animal mascot and this would be totally lost calling us Bayou Bengals.

When I was a student at LSU back in the fall of '69, we played Auburn at home in a day game and they were calling themselves the Plainsmen. I guess it's getting near the time when they adopt a fourth mascot.

We are the Auburn TIGERS, out battle cry is War Eagle.... Why does TAMU have a collie? Why does Alabama have an elephant and yell roll tide? Why does Georgia tech Yellow Jackets have a rambling wreck antique car? Why does the UT Vols have smokey? and of course why do the Ole Miss Rebels start a new mascot this year in the Black Bears...

Auburn is not going to change an over 100 years tradition that dates to the first Georgia Game..

Also, why does TAMU have Yell leaders and Not cheerleaders...

We should add Clemson to the SEC and just keep all the tigers in one place. Hell we could have a tigers division.

You should already know the answer to that.

That's a damn good question. But I know want to ask it and attract a swarm of Aggies with pitchforks.
