So would you say Boise state is a historically better football program than Missouri?

They must be, they beat Oklahoma.

Dude, don't be silly.

They didn't trick frick their way to a win against OU, they skulldrug em.

They also beat down the SEC champ in its own backyard.

Missouri.... nothing really.

I wonder if those early 2000s Miami teams that kicked the shite out of the Bug 12 Champions were in the big east. Oh, that's right, they were.
dude, think about what you just posted...when did Miami, Va Tech and BC leave the Big East? It's no coincidence that WVU has become relevant since those schools left...

We were comparing the Big East to the Big 12.... WVU v OU was pertinent.

Ok.

So only the last 10 or so years matter?

/delete yourself. You have no clue, nor read these boards. The reasons have been discussed ad nauseum here.

So the Big East wasn't as weak as you made it out to be when comparing the HISTORY of MU and WVU, and how they came to their w/l records and bowl invites?

This is what you said

Winning big games against a team that Missouri can't overtake in its own conference, kinda does.
Hell, actually playing in, and winning BCS games does separate them.

If not, how do we separate teams?

How is Boise beating a team that Missouri can't overtake in its own conference not pertinent? It's using your same logic.

It is when you and Chicken keep bring up the last 7-10 years when it comes to WVU's competition in the Big East. I was making the point that they have beaten the Best of the Big12 and SEC in big games, in that same timeframe.

Your bullshite diversionary tactics in this thread kept me interested. Now that I have given you a history lesson, and filled your head with facts, feel free to stop spouting off stupid shite like "MU=WVU in football".

I know you will squander this info, and go on being ignorant, but I really have to leave now.

That's the perception

you are making my point...since 2003, the Big East has been the weakest BCS conference, on par with the Mountain West...it is during this time that WVU has rose to semi-prominence. Before that, VA Tech and Miami were in that conference and basically dominated it. It was completely top heavy, and I wouldn't characterize that conference as being strong overall at any point.

And Utah is a much better program than Alabama because they beat them in bowl game that bama didn't give a shite about.

Does going to a BCS game with an 8-4 record and unranked (as UConn, the Big Least champ, did last year, before getting their arse handed to them by the Big-12 champ) count for anything?

And I've shown you that Boise has done the same damn thing in bowl games. If you look at their ENTIRE HISTORY, the programs aren't that different.

I've given you way more of a history lesson than you just saying that West Va has won bigger bowl games recently.

I really don't understand this pissing contest about which historically mediocre football program is better.

WVU was nationally relevant under Don Nehlan when the Big East was a stronger league, but always got waxed in bowl games. Mizzou has recently emerged from decades of shite, but they still have never to broken through on an elite level.

This is why I'm sick of hearing this BS about "potential". WVU has a couple big BCS wins, but they still inexplicably blow conference games to weaker teams when they should have a yearly pass to the BCS out of their sorry league. How do they compete in the SEC when they can't get by the likes of USF and Syracuse?

Mizzou has played in the second best conference in the BCS era, yet they have only 2 CCG blowout losses to show for it. How is moving to the SEC going to improve their recruiting and grow their fanbase significantly enough for them to be any better?
