I thought the "T.U." reference came about from The University of Tennessee getting the acronym "UT" and Texas trying to strong arm them and use it themselves.

before Ken Starr went uber-Baylor I was thinking that they would be a nice non-conference game. Now they can go frick themselves.

I feel the same way.

I had no issue with keeping them as an OOC game and I imagine that the A&M admin was going to try to keep them on the schedule. They are still one of our oldest rivalries after all.

However, KStarr ruined all of that with his threats of lawsuits and his incredibly hypocritical "Don't Mess With Texas Football" campaign.

It was really a very stupid course of action on his part. They rarely sell out their stadium unless its an A&M/sip game and our games with them (in multiple sports) are regularly their biggest money makers.

I imagine we won't try to schedule them in anything until KS and possibly several of their current head coaches are gone.

Outside of the idiots on Baylorfans that view A&M as Al Quida, I wonder if the rank and file Baylor fan is happy to see their coaches "stick it to A&M" and go out of their way to say they won't schedule us. (although I'm pretty sure K Starr made the feeling mutual?)

I'd like to believe that BF.com represents the worst of the worst among their fanbase, but sometimes I wonder.

Proof of the dysfunction of the Big 12.

Big 10 takes Nebraska.
Pac 10 takes Colorado and Utah.
ACC takes Pitt and Syracuse.
Big 12 takes TCU and WVU.

Not one threat of lawsuits.

Texas A&M and Mizzou try to better themselves by going to the SEC and they both get hit with threats of law suits as they try to leave the Big 12..

Just read that on another site and thought how that show the Big 12 in a true light of how they are.

I can't imagine how miserable it's going to be as a Missouri fan if we end up having to stay in the Big 12 1 more year knowing we should be playing in the SEC instead.

I'm sure we'll learn to "hate" Bama and LSU and others.....but I can't imagine developing the kind of hatred I have for texas and baylor, where I want their programs to get the death penalty for all eternity.

I don't know many gumps that pull for AU or many AU fans that pull for bammer. It's pute hatred brother.I use to pull for other SEC teams in bowl or non-conference games but I have to be honest and say that is not true anymore.

I can understand that hatred towards an in-state SEC team. I remember when Tulane was in the SEC; I'd pull for anyone who was playing against them...baby beaters, dog killers, church robbers, anyone!!!!

As much as I dislike Bama, I still pulled for them against UT in the NCG (that might not be a good example because I dislike UT even more!!!!).

The irony of all this is it was just a month and a couple days past the day that the Pac 12 sent OU,OSU,TT and Texas back to the Big 12 by denying them entry.

Funny how about a month after those 4 tried to run out on the Big 12 and were denied they are vilifying Missouri and threatening lawsuits for leaving. Dysfunction at its finest..

I don't want Missouri in our conference. I don't think they are up to par. I'm sorry, that is how I feel. I hope it ends up with them in the Big 10 or 12. Not here.

Regarding the "t.u." references, the real reason for this has to do with, surprise, the arrrongance of the Horns (sips, as we call them). Up until sometime after WWII, all state higher educations other than the University of Texas were colleges, or institutes (in the case of Texas Tech), so, when sips referred to their school, they referred to it as "The University" rather than "the Univeristy of Texas" (and heaven help you if you overlook the capital "T" in "The University") as a reminder that their institution was a "univeristy" and yours was a mere college. An example of this is the body that governs Texas high school competition, which is named the University Interlscholastic League, with "University" meaning UT-Austin (prior to integration, black school competition was run by the Prarie View Interscholastic League at Prarie View A&M). A&M's use of the lower case "t.u." was meant as a reminder that they weren't the only institute of higher education in the state, nor even the oldest.

Explained better than I ever could. Even more interesting is that they love to call us racist...yet Prairie View A&M, the only HBCU in the state, is part of the Texas A&M system. Basically, t.u. is just another texas university. Some of the "texagsisms" are rather humorous.

Klanhorns: In reference to their historical ties to the KKK

Al Q'lanni: In reference to the above as well as their support to Palestinian terrorists.
