From a poster on Texags with very close connections to the SEC, via Mississippi State folks (the guy in charge of the SEC schedule committee is a former MSU athletic administrator).

Texas A&M opens its SEC schedule with Florida at Kyle Field.

A&M will travel to its SEC West games (LSU, 'Bama, Arkansas, and MSU).

A&M will host UF, USC, UGA, Vandy.

Supposedly, in order to keep from disrupting long-standing SEC rivalries, Texas A&M has to play a 4/4 SEC SEC West/East split until there's a team #14 in the SEC East.

I don't think that necessarily true. Arkansas could just be the Home team at Jerryworld.

And I didn't believe the SEC would give us a 4/4 split until this specific poster said he's heard this.

If for some reason A&M caught lightening in a bottle and made a run (unlikely) somebody will be pissed winning their division and being left out of the SECCG

This guy is pretty damn connected. Although, he didnt state the exact shedule, just that it would be a 4/4 split and all east games are home and all west are road games.

He did state UF@Kyle would be our first game.

Makes no sense. Division winner goes to the SECCG. Tie breakers would be a nightmare only playing 4 division games. Mo to the east solves the problem.

This, and I'm pretty sure our AD was adamant about keeping our game in DFW for the next several years when we voted you in FWIW

Really?

I thought your side was the one wanting it home and home.
Not doubting you just thought it was the other way around.

if we are at 13 teams in 2012 aTm is gonna play a 4/4 split between east and west.

They host every team from the East and travel only to West teams? Doubtful...

Not saying this is correct but the guy who posted it has a link to Larry Templeton (the guy overseeing this).

I can't see that happening, besided it's too early to be getting an idea what the scheduling will be like because we don't know how the Mizzou situation is going to turn out.

Assuming they don't come, then that schedule is going to suck for you guys massively. There's no balance. The SEC West is the strongest division in all of college football, you definitely don't want to have all your West trips in one year. True, on the flip side you would have home games the year after, but it defies logic to schedule it that way. I'd look for a more even split.

Starr, that's supposedly the schedule for 2012 with 13 teams. 2013 would have 14 teams and even divisions.

Again, this is supposedly coming from Larry Templeton

That's the first I read Mizzou was locked in. I've read a lot, that it could take them as long as two years to get out of the Big 12, but they would likely have thing settled in then next month and announce their move. I assumed it would end up much like A&M's, so as to maintain balance, both for the SEC and Big 12.

As for the schedule, it's definitely going to be a pain. I think there's just an easier way. I'd have to do the math, and do a compare/contrast on all the SEC teams schedules, but I'm thinking it would be possible to just add A&M to West and schedule as normal. Perhaps, play an extra SEC game, which wouldn't matter as long all West teams ended up with the same number. I don't know. I just figured when all was said and done, we'd end up with 14. That all the jargon about being prepared to play with 13 was just smoke screen.

Texas A&M has to play a 4/4 SEC SEC West/East

That would be funny. They could be a "floater" team, not in either division, but playing four opponents from each division. At the end of the season, if their SEC record would be good enough to win either division, they could go the SECCG as representative of that division. If their record would be good enough to win both divisions, they represent the division whose winner has the inferior SEC record.
