Why would Jimbo leave FSU for LSU? His name keeps coming up on this board. What makes people think he would leave there to come here?

I don't get it either. LSU would have to pay him at least 5 million a year to get him as well.

Agreed. That's why I prefaced with "fantasyland"
Although I think he is just as likely as some of the other names being dropped in this thread

I thought about this topic a little over the last few hours.

I think I can narrow my list to two candidates, either of which I would be elated about, if they were to succeed Miles.

Dan Mullen - He has taken a MSU team that was as bad as any Big 5 program in the nation after the Croom debacle, and has had two 10 win seasons, including going 10-2 in the SECw this year, in a year that for the first time saw all members of the division become bowl eligible. The knock on him is recruiting. I think he has an eye for talent (similar to Miles). Mississippi has far more competition for lesser in state talent than is within Louisiana. Miles was not known as a superior recruiter until he arrived in Baton Rouge. I think LSU would give Mullen a talent bump, resource bump, etc. Couple that with his coaching ability and I think he could be scary good at LSU.

Jim Mora, Jr. - NFL pedigree, Louisiana ties, good recruiter, college head coaching experience, proven success in a tough conference. Young and energetic enough to be a stable replacement for Miles for at least a decade.

I think either would take the job if offered.

i posted hudspeths name a few days ago and my post was promptly removed .

I think gundy would be most realistic because if he wants championships he will need to leave Ok st.
Keep chavis and wilson. gundy run offense, chavis defense and wilson recruit . Gold i tell you gold!

I doubt he would but it doesn't hurt to ask either.

I know right? And let's also petition the NCAA to give Matt Flynn one more year of eligibility; because it doesn't hurt to ask.

isn't leaving MSU. he built that program.

should be on the realistic list. he's a good coach that runs a modern pro style offense and believes in defense. Also recruits in Louisiana successfully from the west coast.

Was that a thinly veiled racist comment?

To paraphrase Jerry McGuire: "We Love the Black Man!"

He is a smart man and realizes that there is a ceiling of sustainability at Mississippi State relative to national title contention. If LSU offered, he would listen.
