just for the record, FWIW:

Urban Meyer + rough season = Retirement for Urbie...

Because we have intelligent fans who look past records and see how the games were coached/managed. And several of them were done so in a terrible fashion.

DC, you're a smart guy. I pray you're being ironic.

to all who want Les fired for having an 8 win or 9 win season, you should have to endure a little of the Curly Hallman era. 8 or 9 wins then we would have thought we were in heaven.

8 win seasons shouldn't be acceptable here,

He's just saying "if I make this commitment to you, you've got to be committed to me."

He has four years left on his contract for approximately $15 mil guaranteed.

What more commitment does he want?

I agree. Sometimes coaches don't do their jobs as well as they should be. Urbs and Mack clearly didn't give the effort they gave in previous years. And Urbs knew he didn't and wouldnt and thats why he wanted to quit before the season and did so after.

edit: thought WWL was an acronym for ESPN lol. But seriously, yesterday everyone said "he'd definitely leave when Michigan offers" they have proven these last few weeks that they know no more than you or I. I mean I could talk to someone there and say I'm a close friend of the family he's going to Michigan and they'd run with it.

Urbie had 7 wins a year after a national title WITH Tim Tebow. Miles hasn't had less than 8 with worse QBs.

I do agree with most of this. But does he just want a verbal commitment? Because how exactly do you put this in a contract?

Wow, so you disagree about how some of those first 6 games were coaches/managed terribly?

They're still here. Just can't comment because they know they'll get blasted for wanting an 11 win coach fired.

Max and his chronies are here and there on this board

I assume I am included in the chronies list.

I don't want Miles fired and have never said he should be. He has never been in danger of this.

I would however be glad if he moved on, on his own.

I don't think anyone is saying that he should be fired if that happens every once in awhile, but when it becomes the norm (like 3 out of 4 years or so) then it needs to be considered.

i know...and what some people expect is unrealistic. You're going to have down years...it happens.
