On jimbo or Herman. Friends/family and tards on here are driving me nuts. Texts like "the luster coming off of Herman a bit" & "jimbo can't win in the ACC"
Jeez. Jimbo's resume is slightly longer than a couple recent losses. And Herman, while not having the creds that jimbo does, has proven what he is capable of. I think some people are actually viewing UH as a realistic #6 team. Take away W&Ls..what do we know about Herman? He can compete AND beat elite talent & coaching on a regular basis with VERY limited talent. Give him louisiana's talent pool, then what can he do? I for one am willing to take a chance to find out. Eaux is the only one where wins matter.
Sooo, please quit acting like women when one if these guys loses a game.
I'll be happy with either and Eaux too if he proves out

The Tom Herman nut huggers are a curious bunch. He's been a head coach for a season and a half, and both Texas and LSU fans are insisting that they HAVE to have him, while laughing at the idea of hiring more proven coaches like Fedora or Beilema.

If they're wrong then so is everybody that knows anything in football. It's based on what he's done in a very short time, his youth, his potential, his brain. It's all potential. But tell me how he's not more proven right now than jimbo was when he took over at FSU?

Not like coaches haven't been hired with less creds than Herman

I'm just saying, at a program like LSU, don't you want someone that has a proven track record and has shown they can maintain success? I think Jimbo is a tool, but he has shown that. So has Stoops and so has Gundy and you get down voted into oblivion if you bring up their names.

Not a fan of gundy but I think it's a reasonable suggestion. Stoops, he's in jimbos class but I view him as somebody that can't take advantage of a terrible big12. He should be wrecking shite with UT down.

I go back and forth with Herman jimbo, jimbo Herman, it's a coin flip for me

The same people chastising Herman because he is unproven are the same ones that seem to overlook Coach O's track record. It needs to go both ways. Realistically we need someone who is innovative with offense, someone who can recruit and develop qbs and someone who will build an offense based upon available personnel. Ive seen these things done with Herman and Jimbo. I havent with Ed O.

The problem with O is that he is the perfect interim coach. I'm almost worried that he goes 7-1 or so and Alleva's hand is forced. I love O and want to believe but I'm of the opinion that there's nothing O can do that overrides jimbo or Herman wanting the job. My line has been "I love O for 8 games, not sure I can say the same about 8 years"

Herman hasn't proven anything. I'm not against hiring him, but people need to slow down just a bit on how much of a proven, sure thing he is.

You're fairly strong on record as a CEO supporter before he's coached a really meaningful game yet.

And that's fine - O's your guy. But the argument can be made he's less proven than Herman. Bottom line is none of us know. We'll see.
