LSU would be wise to make him the highest paid coordinator in College Football.

He's not leaving here for anything less than a HC job

agreed, we will be willing to outbid anyone for him. Also he came in despite knowing how hot of a seat Les Miles was on.

Any coach that wouldn't keep Aranda should be a no go, that tells me they can't make good staff decisions if they don't see the value of Aranda.

I think he is smart enough to weigh his options after the coaching change.

He stayed at Wisconsin Anderson left. Thats a pretty big deal considering how he talks about Anderson.

I think if we hire a coach that wants him to stay and doesn't want to mess with what he is doing he woudl stay. We are paying him more than most schools pay any of their coordinators.

exactly, and any coach that says they don't want to keep Dave better have a DC with a better resume lined up. If not then it should be interview over.

realistically i can only think of a coach who is very defensive minded who clashes with what Dave wants to do or micromanages it.

im torn on going offensive which is where the tier 1 guys we can get are with Jimbo, Herman and Chip or do we go defensive minded coach and trust them to hire an OC and stay out of the way.

I think any offensive mind coach would keep Aranda. The danger is does that offensive coach have the ability to tab the next great DC when Aranda leaves.

I know we all want a good offense, but LSU is Defense first. We aren't going to win any titles without having a good defense.

i love aranda and want him to stay, but the new coach picks his staff, period. no need to micromanage the new coach. he gets to pick his staff. i hope it has aranda, but if it doesnt, he should get the freedom to hire as he sees fit. that was its on him...

oh no the coach gets to pick his staff, however you have to question how good of a hire the coach is going to be if he can't back up why his preferred Dc is better than Aranda. I would venture to say only 1 or 2 have the resume of Aranda.

once the hire is made you let them build their staff, but part of getting this job is going to be show telling the higher ups how you plan to have your staff look. Les was a retard but he brought in some very talented staff. IMO it would be wise for the new coach to keep DA and Juluke

its pretty wise to keep the better members of the former staff especially if you have a staff that isn't as good.

I feel like its pretty common that at least one staff stays when a new coach is coming in.

The feeling of most (and maybe true) is that Aranda is not ready for a head coaching position at LSU. There are many coordinators that can run a great offense but few coordinators that can stop a great offense. Aranda is one. LSU will one day regret not hiring him as Head Coach.

I think he should be in serious consideration for the HC job. He has a Saban vibe to him. LSU will regret it if they let him get away.

Probably a wise move, but maybe we should at least wait to see how the Bama, Arky, UF and TAMU games play out.
