Please God tell me we've thrown a bone to Canada, Brohm, Riley, or even one of the Briles. Are there even any other potential candidates other than Freshwater and E ?

Only if we don't get into a bidding war for them.
Here at LSU, we want to win but we don't want to get into bidding wars for quality coaches

I heard Alleva is saving the school even more money by appointing Ensminger and also replacing Mike the Tiger with a stray alley cat

I'm not at all upset over the promotion. Like many, I'm disappointed with the search. Having said that, I will be fkin pissed and let down if it becomes Ensminger.

I really don't get the Canada love. Outside of this year, and the one year at Northern Illinois (where the guys before and after him put up), his offenses have been mediocre.

I don't know a whole lot about Canada, I just want a fresh start. Ensminger did an admirable job, but those were shite teams and it wasn't very hard to "open up" our offense. All that took was a 3rd wide receiver and the forward pass.

I highly doubt there is much of a search going on if any for OC. Alleva sticking to the binder.

Ensigmer hire = quicker ending to this nightmare

Nope.
Money goes to the bank bro.
You will see your parking, tickets, and concessions go up in price though.
Winning...
In Alleva's mind.

He makes 800K. He'd double his salary coming here to be OC. I don't know about you, but I'd take a pay raise to come here as OC. Especially since the heightened publicity of the school would likely land me a better HC gig down the road.

Think of the $ we could save on Mike's enclosure!

They have to have binders before considered .

Well Brohm wouldn't make any sense since he's already a head coach. His next step is HC at a P5

This really isn't a great strategy for LSU.
Learning an offensive system isn't simple. LSU really shouldn't be hiring guys that have a 1-2 year shelf life here. Hiring a HC with a high salary basically just makes that guy an easier hire if he has success.
I think it's better to hire a coordinator, whose salary you can continue to raise to keep the small schools away, and thus is likely to stay for 3-4 years even if he succeeds.

It's not just that. It's that there's zero-less than zero--chance a HC of a 10-3 team leaves to become an OV anywhere, regardless if pay. It is completely short-sided and absurd on it's face. It has literally never happened.
