isn't Frank Wilson a natural fit there. He would likely have to take a pay cut, but timing, location, etc...it just seems "right"

How about David Bailiff? Rice is having a rough year this year, but he's produced a consistent bowl team at a school with a similar profile.

Frank is from NOLA, I can't see how they could do better.

Frank has done a very good job of building his resume, he can do better than a school that coaches go to die.

He's never even been an OC. It's a middle tier conference with some games against recognizable teams.

if he could get better, where and why is he still at LSU?

It could be that he has enough sense to wait for the right opportunity, you have to admit there are other small schools that has not been as hard on coaches as tulane has.

The coaches who have gone to die at Tulane, died because they sucked. Not because of anything Tulane did. CJ, Scelfo were terrible. Toledo was too old and not a good coach any longer. Tommy Bowden made out ok

Also a guy by the name of Mack Brown. Not sure if you've heard of him

I love how LSU fans have to shite on Tulane no matter what, worry about your own coaching situation

And what is the right opportunity? What are these jobs you are referring to?

Tulane is in his hometown, in the city he can recruit better than anyone on the planet. Even if he doesn't steal LSU's targets, he can bogart all the scraps and put together a very solid roster, not to mention his the JC ranks hard.

But again, if Tulane isn't the right job for Frank what is? This might be the perfect job for him right now.

Never did shite on tulane, pull for them unless they are playing LSU, and I am familiar with their coaches probably further back than you, but it has been quite a while since Mack or Bowden was there, I also do not doubt Frank's abilities, I still say it is tougher now at tulane than it was in the past.

The years under Mack were spent as an Independent. Now they are affiliated with a conference so things ate definitely different. the days of them hosting Bama, Ole Miss, LSU, FSU TCU, Va Tech, etc are gone but the coach there will make a name in the same manner that Bowden did.

You run the table beating teams like Houston, Memphis, USF along the way and every now and then go on the road against a mid tier ACC or SEC team and hope to pull off the upset.

Frank isn't getting a HC at a power 5 school right now, it just isn't happening.

Why would Tulane hire basically the same exact guy (minus nfl experience) to replace a failed coach?

I would like to see Frank as an OC before handing him the HC spot.

Why would Tulane

You really don't know why Tulane would?

Price is right, pleases fans, hurts LSU, etc etc etc. It isn't like Tulane is hiring the guy who can post the most W's, they have alot more to consider.

People just don't hire the same type guy after a fail. I don't see it at all.

But what past? It's a better job than it was when they got Toledo 9 years ago and it's a better job than it was when they got CJ in 2012

As for FW, Maximus is right on for the reasons we don't really want him at Tulane. I guess the counter is that Frank hasn't been out of the college game like CJ had been when they got him so he could probably do a better job recruiting

Tulane went from Bowden to Scelfo which was basically the same hire.

Frank is younger than CJ and a better recruiter (less of a position coach). Other than being black, both come from an offensive background and from NOLA, I don't see how they are all that similar.

Frank would recruit NO like no one else at Tulane. Who knows how well he would cosch them. It's going to be difficult for Tulane to get a current D1 HC there. How much was Curtis making?
