We know that's what you desperately want. That doesn't make it true.

Question wasn't posed to you. It was posed to the guy who is claiming sources. Those in coaching circles know, Herman wants Texas and Texas wants him. That's not to say Texas may not screw it up, but if they don't, he's at Texas.

I don't "desperately want" him anywhere. Really doesn't impact my life at all wherever the guy coaches. Doesn't impact my life at all whoever LSU hires. I'm just sharing with the OP that I know coaches and, more than coaches, I know agents. I have a buddy who is an agent to coaches and he's saying that Texas has already back channeled Herman and Herman has given them every reason to believe he wants Texas.

Taggert for the Rooney Rule?
More or less, yes. Colleges aren't compelled like NFL teams are, but they've been asked in the past to 'voluntarily' follow the same protocol. I think there was a movement recently to make it required. The "Eddie Robinson Rule" was the term.

He must fear that if Herman doesn't go to Texas that they will make another strong push for Saban.

Jimbo still the front runner. If he shows any reservations or hesitation LSU won't hang around an romance very long. They will go all in on Herman.

They need to go all in on both and not tell the other one.

Play both of them.

No, I didn't. Didn't put quotes around "sources" when I posed the question. I just asked him if his sources had heard what I'd heard about Texas' head start communications. re-read the post.

your sources are likely right about herman, i have texas people telling me the same here, but i question how they get their info

until either hire is made, there will be people clamoring for herman here, so you'll just have to sit back and enjoy the bs.

I think Jimbo > Herman specifically for the LSU job. Maybe LSU Admin feels that this is THE destination job for Jimbo while Herman will always be under constant speculation and connection to the NFL, USCw, and Texas.

Yep. And its completely understandable.

IF we got Herman, he'd probably leave us at the alter one day.

I think Spurrier with Aranda would be an interesting combination.

Are you fricking serious?

Spurrier was a horrid recruiter and left USCe in shambles talent wise.

He is also 71 years old and basically retired and getting a salary having fun at his alma mater.

So again, are you serious?

Honestly though, if he leaves for he NFL or something it's because he wrecked shite at LSU.

I'm cool with that.

i wouldn't mind him taking the leap after hoisting his 3rd playoff title at LSU.

Agreed on the Spurrier nonsense. Anyone in favor of that is stuck in the 90s. Go listen to some grunge and get off the innerwebz.
