Confirmed.

Don't jump to conclusions. My source said they just want to say that they did an extensive search and exercised full due diligence.

Jimbo still the front runner. If he shows any reservations or hesitation LSU won't hang around an romance very long. They will go all in on Herman.

So they can cross them off the list.

Honestly, I'm ok with both if the top 5ish choices don't pan out.

Just curious as to the odds of a " hire" being kept quiet till the season is over?

.

How confident are we on this as a backup plan?

Taggart is really intriguing, just looked up his resume. His Florida ties would be much welcomed.

Still I'm only on board if a good bit of names fall through

RLH, There was a TX message board moderator's claim that LSU and Herman have already had a "gentleman's agreement" about the job. Not true?

I'm good with either Jimbo or Herman. I fall into that camp that thinks Jimbo is more sure thing, but Herman more upside. I also think both would try very hard to keep Aranda. Your thoughts?

I think they have it right. It sounds like a 1a 1b situation with how he said they aren't gonna play games with jimbo.

I honestly think that keeping Aranda is kind of an unspoken caveat for whoever is offered the job. LSU brass and big time donors think very highly of Aranda. It was a major coup for LSU to snag him when Les' seat was so hot. He is a very sharp defensive mind who is young with a lot of tread left on the tires.

Appreciate the information. Would love to see Herman and Aranda at LSU for at least a decade.

Still feel like there's some options out there that we haven't (or won't) hear about. That's the good thing about having like 3 months to conduct the search I guess.

Aranda won't be a DC for another decade
