Interesting article showing varying success when coach is promoted from within.

Some were great successes. Some- not so much.

In a word . . . NO.

Don't think enough mental acuity. Also, not in favor of a college HC that can't effectively coordinate one side of the ball. They will always be relying on two other key people, each of whom may leave at the most inopportune time to take HC promotion. Leads to a lot of instability over time and I don't believe O can handle it successfully.

If I made 3.5 million in one year I'd consider myself successful.

You have to be Ponamsky. Any negative O talk is like the bat signal to you. Your staunch defense of his every move is a little weird.

Miles was an OC. Just not a great one.

I measure success as averaging 10 wins or more and winning championships.

No I don't think that is possible with him.

If we really do land a top notch OC then I think O can make some noise. The problem with this is retaining a top OC and DC simultaneously. If that isn't done at all times then I see 7-8 win seasons.

depends on your definition of successful. If it's 7-5 - 9-3 then yeah he'll be successful. If it's championships, then nah..

You get what you pay for when you shop in the coaches section @ Wal-Mart.

If you thought we wasted Fournette's talent, wait until you see what we do with Dave Aranda.

A good job? I'm still waiting to see if he can coach his way up to Dinardo level coaching. If he can, LSU might be ok.

Hangover,

You need to sober up and get your head outta your arse. Then. . . just listen a bit to him speak. You will then have your answers.

Just stop. Seriously. The offensive production improved as a testament to Les not being there to meddle in the offensive play calls. If it is because of O then surely we would have evidence of his electric offenses in his other coaching stops, right? I mean some of those 10 wins out of 25 losses must have been shootouts, right?
