It seems very early for him to be listening/accepting offers. I get the thought that OU Boosters heard whispers & might've accelerated the process, but he just had his first loss.

I'd love to see it happen, but OU is in the middle of trying to win a conference championship & go to a NY6 bowl.

Even if he's not interested, he's coming. That harpoon is lodged in.

I don’t think anyone expects a confirmation during the season tbh. At least they shouldn’t. Seems obvious he’s listening though

Agreed. Majority of this board seems like they're about to have a press conference to announce or something.

I seriously don’t see why he would leave. There is no chance Oklahoma doesn’t match whatever LSU is offering. But I hope he’s LSU’s next head coach.

Don't forget to check the spam folder. That's where I found mine. Was from some Nigerian princess.

There's this misunderstanding that if you have 2 identical offers on the table, then there's no reason to leave. If OU does match the LSU offer, then the choice is totally up to Lincoln. I think there are a lot of reasons why he would choose LSU over OU.

This is where you are wrong….

A few things in play here….someone can correct me if I’m wrong..

1. Oklahoma is a fully self funded school. LSU receives loads of cash from outside sources
2. Oklahoma has a hefty $80million buyout they will have to pay the Big 12

So, where are they gonna get the money to match that type of offer?

Coming to agreement and announcing it are 2 different things.

This is the normal process now that ESD is part of college football.

Coaches and AD’s want it earlier than before to help hold classes.

Those numbers fluctuate year to year.

For instance, OU spent $20M more on facilities and equipment. Schools are constantly updating and expanding facilities and outfitting those facilities and athletes with new equipment. Those costs are not constant year to year. Some years there are major upgrades, and other years the costs are limited to maintenance.

Major upgrades often fall under the budgets of booster groups like TAF, so those costs aren’t always reflected in athletic budgets.
