Why would Kelly pick LSU over USCw?

Honest question. USCw seems like the much more logical fit.

Familiarity on the west coast. Easier path to victory in the PAC12. Receuiting is a wash. And I don't mean this disparagingly, but I think his ego fits LA a little better than BR.

I'm all for Kelly if he were a realistic option, I just don't think he is.

Kelly is staying in the NFL so it's a moot point.

More talent right now on the roster, easier recruiting base, a more supportive CFB atmosphere...although that could be spun as a negative in some cases.

I agree that he fits more at a place like USCw. I assume USCw has him as their top candidate, and if LSU and USCw both offer and he picks LSU, then I'd be even happier.

I think the USC administration has issues....they've been a nightmare for awhile now.

Kelly hated the non HC responsibilities of college football, particularly having to deal with boosters. He is not married & his only life is coaching, thus, he's been called a jerk by many. He left the Ducks by mutual consent, both parties were ready for him to leave. He was a Saban junior, always threatening to leave. Cann't see him ever going back to college football.

Works in an industry that is infinitely biased towards LA teams/markets.

Saban came back to college.....

He went

10-3
12-1
12-2
12-1

You're really sticking to that story???????? I think you don't know anything about why Chip Kelly left. He could have just wanted another challenge.

The NCAA was also snooping around.

Kelly would not be a good fit at USC. Doesn't like glad handing the boosters, and all the stuff that comes with it.

Kelly isn't coming back to college unless it's a last resort. He hated recruiting and dealing with boosters and important alumni.

Kelly to LSU just seems like a weird idea.

Exactly, it is amazing that people just assume he is from the west coast.

What I am stating here comes paraphrased from a lengthy Sports Illustrated article just as he left the Ducks & signed with Philly. And talked to a group of 10-12 Oregon State fans at a baseball regional and though obviously biased against him, they were saying the same exact things. Philly fans are now saying the same things about him as it relates to his handling of the Eagle's program. And, yes, the NCAA's were all over his program. Another reason for LSU not to take him. I suggest you research the man & you will see this is out there all over the place.
