It'd be nice if they could get somebody that (in addition to recruiting prowess) has spent some time in a system that utilizes "spread principals" if they are really looking to incorporate that. Even if it means juggling some of the offensive position coaches.

I don't know if Juluke or Curtis Johnson fit that bill but heck even if it is someone who has been a lower level but up and coming guy in a successful spread system it's gotta help some.

move Tony Ball to running back coach and ... CJ comes to LSU as our WR coach/passing game coordinator. And Lock down New Orleans/South Louisiana as long as he is here.

I could get behind this

I think Juluke is a real possibility.

I spoke with one of his family members, he signed on with Texas Tech two days before Frank left.

Keep an eye on Michael Smith from Arkansas.

Don't all of the Arky assistants have no-compete clauses for the SEC West? I think I remember that being a thing

It has been reported that Smith doesn't have a non-compete because he is the only assistant that did not get a raise after last season.

Man you gotta push for CJ

i never really got the porter hate but id rather bring in some new blood and Johnson's track record speaks for itself.

I am a huge fan of CJ...my question would be how long can we expect to keep him?? As a former NFL WR coach and D1 Head Coach, I am not sure if he is with LSU for more than a couple of years...we would have a better chance of holding on to Julukke a bit longer

I wonder if they may just elevate Justin Vincent? RB coach is really one of the lower tier coaches on staff as far as actually teaching, and could be a good way for him to break him in.

juluke is the #1 target, but getting Curtis Johnson for WR would be a close second. We would still need a RB coach.

Who ever the prospective RB coach is, he is having to finish out his current duties with the team he is currently with, so as not to do anything to hurt the commitments that they are bringing to that school.
Call it professional courtesy if you will.

we already have someone hired. its just on the DL. Also, because of lack of coach allows that time to be spread to other coaches

Yeah, at this point thats totally understandable and expected.

I just figured (when the thread started) that they would try to bring someone in before Signing Day. Guess they wanted to take their time with it and make all the right moves

Maybe so but you lost one hell of a recruiter in Frank. While its next to impossible to replace him with someone as good, you have to try and fill that void somehow.

Nothing will really get out until NSD. Loophole that allows Les to have extra recruiting visits/time with recruits.

Exactly this.
