Obviously it's not as prominent a position as the DC job, but it feels like there have so few reports on interviewees etc. Just speculation as to who may be called.

Seems odd to me but what do I know

I'm thinking we likely won't hear anything until after national signing day.

Nothing will really get out until NSD. Loophole that allows Les to have extra recruiting visits/time with recruits.

You're probably right. I figured it'd be the opposite. You'd want someone in place before NSD it seems? Secure commitment of some recruits and possibly steal another?

Then again it might be too late in the recruiting season for all that

I thought I read a rule the ncaa changed where head coaches don't get anymore extra visits if a assistant leaves could be wrong though.

Depends on who takes over as recruiting coordinator, my guess is that would be O if he wants it. RB coach hire could wait until after signing day.

Maybe staff changes aren't completely done yet.
Would love to get Curtis Johnson on this staff, that could help the passing game overnight.

Rule changed. Les doesn't get extra visits, but they get to send Austin Thomas out on in-home visits. Which is a good thing.

There could be some coaching dominos that we don't know yet. I think Juluke is a real possibility. He's an up and coming Frank clone who is legend in the New Orleans.

Would love for Curtis Johnson to join the staff. Juluke would also be solid as a recruiter. Not sure of his coaching ability.

You have Fournette. How much coaching do you have to do?

1. Show up
2. $$$$$$

we really don't need a running back coach this year. LF and DG could teach some RB coaches a few things.

LSU: One name to keep an eye on for the LSU running backs job is former Tulane head coach Curtis Johnson.

Honest, maybe dumb question but why is everyone so high on Curtis Johnson?

Looking at his coaching career he's only ever worked with WRs?

Curtis Johnson would kill it for LSU in New Orleans recruiting. Frank Wilson was a great NOLA recuiter, and IMO he would be welcome back w/ open arms back here. However Curtis Johnson runs circles around Frank Wilson when it comes to New Orleans and River Parish connections.

Fact is I would move Tony Ball to running back coach and if he didn't want to go there then well there is the door, and we hire a more national recruiter for that position. CJ comes to LSU as our WR coach/passing game coordinator. And Lock down New Orleans/South Louisiana as long as he is here.
