Why does there appear to be talk about Fedora and Kingsbury at LSU?

they may be "offensive minds" but this would be quite a let down. I'd rather have kept Les than go with one of them.

Fedora has done a good job at UNC. He walked into a dumpster fire and has kept them afloat.
I haven't seen anything legit about Kingsbury - just typical BS spouted on forums.

It's just people being stupid. If LSU fired Les Miles and paid him millions of dollars not to coach in order to hire Fedora or Kingsbury, then heads need to roll starting with the AD.

Because between now and the end of the season and until they make a hire there is going to be talk of everyone under the sun with a pulse that could be a candidate. Pay no attention to any of it. None of it is verifiable and none of it will be true. Agents call reporters to tell them their guy is interested in the LSU job so that the reporters float it out there that LSU is interested in their guy so that their guy can go back to his current team and get a raise.

Nothing against Fedora and Kingbury at all, but it would tell you from an LSU standpoint, that if they hire someone like them...then LSU does not want to put up the big money to bring in a big name coach.

Every agent is going to "leak" stories to everyone they know with a blog about their guy being in the running for the LSU job.

He walked into a cesspool and sanctions. Year 2 and 3 goes bowling and Year 4 he goes 11-3, 8-0 in conference. I'd say he has done just fine.

He didn't play anyone worth a damn last year until the ACC championship and in the bowl game. And they lost both those games. This year they will be lucky to win 8 games

Fedora is a legitimate candidate, might not be what some people want here at LSU but he did well at Southern Miss and now at UNC both schools are not easy to do well at. Southern Miss is not a power 5 team and is not that well thought of in the football circles.

Kingsbury - I can't even see how that will happen, might give him an interview but no way seriously considering him. He would make a great OC but not a HC in the SEC I believe.

And here's the problem with firing Miles so early in the season. Coaches that still have high aspirations for the season do not want the distractions, and frankly may get fed up with the BS and take themselves out of the running, knowing that other jobs will open up later in the year (be honest ... is LSU a 'destination' job for anyone of the candidates?). Miles had to go, but LSU is set up for disappointment.

Nobody has Fedora as their top choice for coach. Most would agree however that if he is a pretty good backup plan.

Not sure why there is a strong opinion against him honestly. The guy took over USM during a down point in the program and then won the conference a few years later. Then took over a dumpster fire at NC and has them poised to be the favorites in the division for as long as he is there. The man can coach.

You must be young if you think .770 is mediocre.

It was time for a change, but I will be shocked if the next coach does as well.

For over 40 years, LSU was the epitome of mediocrity. We have had amazing success and now people think it should be automatic.

I hope to be wrong, but it will be fun to watch a certain element of our deluded fan base melt if we don't become Alabama.
