Why do I have a feeling Shaw of Stanford gets the gig in Ann Arbor?

Brian Griese dropped his name while being on SVP show yesterday. Describing how Michigan can be stout in academics and on the field like Stanford. Oh, Griese is on the search committee.

I think the administration would love him. The fanbase probably would have killed for him a year or two ago. His offense is super conservative and he has shown to be a derp game manager. I would worry about him leaving for the pros within a few years. Fun fact - he was a year ahead of me in middle school/high school while his dad was with the Lions.

Why would you leave the bay area for Michigan. Isn't his wife heavily involved in the area around stanford?

He is under the radar. I think the committee has their guy, I am betting Jim and Les are being floated for a reason. I am betting Shaw.

Doesn't he have ties to Michigan or the area?

Brian Griese is a IDIOT. He is horrible, hates LM and is on the search committee. Another reason Les wont be offered.

+1000.

The most reviled candidates among Michigan fans right now are Schiano and Shaw. I share in the revulsion

But I think a Shaw candidacy is a moot point anyway - the California college coach actually being mentioned recently in connection with the Michigan job is Mora at UCLA. He'd be a much better choice, anyway.

UM should hire Todd Graham. They make hiring coaches too damn difficult.

Would be a terrible hire. Shaw sucks.

Shaw played football, basketball, and ran track at Stanford. I don't see him leaving his alma mater to take the Michigan job.

Honest question...why is Mora considered a much better choice? Stanford has beaten UCLA 4 times in Mora's 3 years and I only recall maybe one of those games being close.

I like Mora, but I don't see how he's a home run hire while Shaw is an awful one.
