Why are we waiting?

Does anyone find it extremely odd that we are waiting until after the bowl game to announce who the OC will be. This more and more makes me believe that we will hire Ensminger. If this is the case Alleva should be ran out of town. I know I am jumping the gun here but I am just getting worried that it may be Ensminger. There are so many other options out there. Anyone else worried it could be Ensminger?

Stop overreacting. I think it is less than 1% of a chance SE gets the OC job.

I also didn't think we could possibly hire our Defensive Line Coach as our Head Coach.

BC Joe is incompetent and does not know how to conduct a coaching search.
I think if they try for a couple of guys and get pushback on money like they did with Jimbo there is a legitimate chance it ends up being Ensminger

why do you think this will be the case? our number 1 guy just got hired to be a head coach. Now that he is out of the way I would think an OC will be named by end of the weekend

I assume that CEO said this because he thought the following were true:
1. Lane was his first choice and the feeling was mutual (as long as Lane didn't get a HC gig)
2. Ed thought Lane wouldn't get an HC gig
3. Ed also thought Lane would stay "as long as Nick wanted him there" before leaving, which would run past the new year due to the playoffs.
Now that #2 is invalid, I suspect the initial timeline is as well.

I know we are impatient (I am too) but there really is no rush, bowl game and recruiting dead period are about to hit. I think he's just slow playing it for what reason, idk

There's no reason to hurry the hire. O wants Lane but will have to wait until Bama is done with their season. It's really that simple. There's no drama or reason to be paranoid

I agree that this is the most likely explanation of O's thought process. I don't see the need to announce that you're waiting until a certain time period unless you're expecting a series of events to unfold in a specific order. If he wasn't waiting on LK, why wouldn't he be looking to make a hire ASAP?

Aranda was hired January 1st. Cam was hired well into February. Coordinator hires usually happen later rather than sooner; most of the candidates are currently employed and are under contract to do a job for their current programs - recruiting, bowl prep, etc.

There is no rush as there are still bowl games to play. I assume there has been contact with some people, and plans for some interviews. But, I could be assuming to much and we drop the ball..............

Assuming rumors are true and Kiffin is Houston bound, does CEO still wait until after the bowl game to hire an OC?
