Why are people sold on Aranda at DC?

Has Aranda done anything as DC to instill confidence? He has been a replacement level to a slight downgrade from Kevin Steele so far.

I say let the new coach come in and bring whoever he wants. If he decides to keep Aranda, then that's fine, but he shouldn't be forced on the new coach. That's the quickest way to chase away a lot of good candidates is to start naming terms and conditions on who he can and can't bring in.

Defense has been great so far given how much time they've had to be on the field

Great recruiter, makes adjustments, has put together a good defense in just 1/3 of the season. Why would you not want him?

Hasn't this partly been the defenses fault? I have no idea why but this team is not great on 3rd downs. Auburn had 6 red zone trips...kudos to the D for holding them to 6 FG's but an pretty mediocre Auburn O smoked LSU last weekend. It's hard to argue otherwise.

Our DB play has been suspect. Maybe Raymond needs to be evaluated.

This, plus he hasn't even really started blitzing that much. We have been playing more of a bend don't break defense and guess what they haven't been breaking. The other teams have moved the ball but guess what they haven't been scoring TD's.

I would never say the new coach has to keep Aranda, but I would hope the new coach would at least look at the whole season when its done and evaluate whether to keep Aranda or not. Aranda has his job interviews coming up when they get to Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Bama.

The D has been great.

He also literally just got here.

Auburn didn't score a TD.

Is this supposed to be an accomplishment? Have you watched us at all the last two years? We don't score TDs. We kick FGs. Usually not 6 of them though

Especially considering the injuries (and nie Godchaux siteeation) up front, the D has been very good. Tackling hasn't been great at times but as a unit they are playing well. Beckwith is having a great year.

These threads are why people think you are retarded.

Allowing 4 touchdowns in 4 games isn't really that bad.

scoring defense has been excellent.

Defense has been soft up the middle
A lot of blown coverages
Young talent in backfield is underwhelming
