Such short memories: Jimbo was one of the most hated OC in LSU history, and that is saying a lot. He was run out of town & left with some very bitter memories. Not saying yea or nay but to think he was run out of town because of CLM's meddling is ridiculous. He was hated.

HE'S WON A frickING NATIONAL TITLE AS A HEAD COACH SINCE HE LEFT LSU. Are LSU fans really totally stupid enough to ignore that and bitch about a decade old Auburn game?

I guess what I'm asking is what is the backstory on why he was hated?

Rohan and Josh Reed set LSU records under Jimbo's watch. Does nobody remember how hard to stop that pair was? And Dom Davis/LaBrandon Toefield?

His offense fell off in his last couple seasons.....with a new head coach that has proven to stifle offensive coordinators.

If screaming curse words makes you feel better and is your answer, then go for it. None of that refutes the main point of what I said: he was hated & run out of town. In his last mth I saw/heard him speak at the Bayou Bengals Club luncheon and he looked and sounded like shite warmed over. He was beat up, down, and sideways.

Well anyone waking up from a coma they've been in since November '06 has a reason to worry. Everyone else should be doing backflips if he took this job.

Not really saying much. I don't know too many that our fans have liked.

We get it, you want Jimbo. Amazing everyone else is stupid or an idiot if they disagree with your opinion. You'll be the first one screaming if he came here and started losing games. And yes, he did get run out of BR, and it wasn't fast enough for the large majority of fans.

And how's that been working out for us?

I'm just stating a fact. The moaning and bitching about Jimbo was constant. I have a feeling we'll hear those same sentiments again.

The moaning and bitching about all our OCs have been constant.

There's one common denominator.

Well, over the years we have squandered more NFL talent than any other team in NCAA. Look at how inept we were when we had Mett, Beckham, etc., that should have been a sign that it didn't matter who we had, talent wise, Miles would screw the pooch. If he stays another year, he will cost Fournette the Heisman, probably one of the best talents to come through our program in the last 10 years. If he had used Beckham, he'd have been a Heisman candidate as well.

Not really, I barely bitch about Les and I don't really even believe Jimbo would even take the job. All I'm saying is if he was interested he's the best candidate.

That happened to all but two coaches in the basically the last 50 years of LSU athletics.

The offense wasn't that dynamic when Jimbo was with Saban
the defense was good enough that the offense didn't need to be dynamic. except for 2001, when after the ole miss lost, the offense went ballistic the rest of the year

If it was a sure bet we could get Jimbo then I would be OK with letting Miles go. But I don't think it will happen.
