Wouldn't that make them more secure? I don't know, but do corches usually bring in an entire staff?

I agree with your thoughts.

But here's another thought most of us could entertain:

think of your own job situation and think if one of your competitor companies offered you a job for more money and the perks of the job were slightly better. I'm a loyal company guy and understand a counter offer is attractive, however sometimes a good opportunity presents itself that you can't pass up. Think about how many DCs out there are sitting down in their schools wondering if they should put their name in the hat? What's the worst that could happen? Quietly be told no through agents? I'm still of the opinion that the list of candidates could be healthy and we just don't know it. This is a major job posting in college football and I'm trying to stay optimistic amongst the letdowns so far. Still have a few days before panic mode...

The internet & social media does perpetuate a lot of false info that makes the emotions of the fan base rise and fall. Further, it makes the fans feel more connected to the program... almost as if we're junior members in the board room helping to make this decision... we're all insiders now.

This is way different than it used to be even ten years ago. In the past, the majority of the fan base might see a snippet of a post in the paper about the search and that's it. No flight tracker, no news large media outlets would so quickly post breaking news that the PSU DC signed an extension to stay, perhaps within hours of interviewing with Les.

Funny but true.

Odd how the internet age has affected everything in life, including making LSU fans even more unbearable.

chavis brought brick and cooper in 2009. good point
LSU had vacancies to full that year with co-DCs leaving.

I haven't seen where Will Muschamp or John Chavis has brought in new staff yet. Regardless, both of those are due to firings.

DCs usually bring in their own staff when the previous DC and staff was fired, not when the DC left voluntarily.

Truth.

And lest I sound self-righteous... I have to admit I've wasted too much damn time looking at this board and I'm starting to get pissed off that we haven't hired a couple of the supposed front runners.

We're all hypocrites.

This whole season, it's toxic...and addictive. And toxic.

I suspect that there are several coaches that are quietly interested in the job. Coaches are smart enough to know that good players make good coaches, and LSU has them along the ability to get more of them.

However, these guys don't want to jeopardize their standing with their current employer if something doesn't work out. Thus, the reason most people may never hear anything about who may have been "interested" in the job. The reports you hear now are primarily agent speak along with conjecture and innuendo set forth by people with "inside sources"

LSU is not out there trying to hire the person the fans will think is the best guy for the job. In all honesty, who gives a shite about what the fans think?

I think we are finding out not everyone wants this Job. Looks like we will get a coach that is not a top name coach.

You mean to tell me that LSU isn't the greatest and most desirable program the world has ever seen?

I know some of the sunshine pumpers on here don't believe that, but a 8, 7 or 6 win season could signal the end for Miles. And no top DC will risk coming in to a lame duck coach. And a lot of these guys also do like having their on guys on their staff and may not want o keep Haley or Raymond. In the end, I think Haley will be promoted to DC.

And most coaches are willing to stay at their current position (as long as the money is right) than go through the process of having to start over at a new school.

This is exactly why ALeva and Les blew it with CP

They should have signed him ASAP , given him the money made a few concessions and they would have looked like geniuses- Now they have been sent to the back of the room- their choices are limited
